What customers say
Grand family spot with loads to do. Praised for clean loos, sound staff, and ample pitches. New bits added, but some say it gets a bit mad busy, with the odd bother about cleanliness, noise, and how things are run, especially at peak times. Some spots still a work in progress.

Great place super friendly helpful staff. Perfect facilities
Shelduck (area 2) electric grass touring pitch
Liked How helpful staff were - shout out to Ian & Kevin who went above and beyond to help me while my car was in garage nearby from pitching my van to general help
Disliked Nothing

From the manager: Oh we LOVE a good shout out! Huge high-fives to Ian & Kevin our very own holiday heroes! From pitching vans to saving the day while your car was in the garage, they’ve clearly still got their superhero capes on!
Thanks so much for the fab feedback we’re so glad they could help and we hope the rest of your stay was just as smooth (with or without wheels!).

From the manager: Thank you so much for the lovely feedback we’re absolutely delighted you had a great time!
It’s fantastic to hear you enjoyed our park and all the activities we have to offer there really is something for everyone, and we love knowing the whole family had fun!
Your recommendation means the world to us, and we can’t wait to welcome you back for even more adventures soon and a 10/10
See you soon
Ein bestimmt schöner Campingplatz für Familien, für uns aktuell nicht
Shelduck (area 3) fully-serviced gravel and hardstanding touring pitch

From the manager: Thank you for your feedback we’re so glad you enjoyed the park’s family-friendly vibe and appreciated the clean facilities!
Sorry to hear the shop situation was a bit of a let down. The exciting news is... it’ll be open very soon! So next time, no need for a 6-mile supply run. Until then, there is a garage just a short stroll away for any must-haves.
You’re also welcome to book a grocery delivery to the park, but just a heads-up you’ll need to meet the driver at the main gate, as delivery vehicles aren’t permitted to enter the park.
Also, you're absolutely right we’re now a fully cashless park, so it’s card or contactless all the way. We totally get that this can catch guests off guard, and we’ll make sure the message is even clearer going forward.
We’d love to welcome you back again soon hopefully with a fully stocked shop, fewer surprises, and maybe even the children in tow!
Great site for children staff very friendly, clean & tidy
Shelduck (area 3) electric grass touring pitch
Liked Lakes and river beautiful, lots to do but unfortunately when we were there the weather was too hot for us and our dog to take advantage of everything.
Staff on site were friendly and happy
Site was clean and tidy
Disliked Website could be more informative, actually showing menus and prices for the restaurants. The map should be clearer to show walking paths
Including and off lead area for dogs would be a bonus.
Being in a motorhome I was disappointed that some sites say you had a shop, and others ‘coming soon’, we had to go off site to buy milk.

From the manager: Thank you so much for your lovely feedback we’re thrilled you enjoyed the beautiful lakes and rivers, found the park clean and tidy, and had a warm welcome from our team!
We're sorry the sunshine was a bit too generous during your stay it can be tricky trying to explore with a hot and bothered pooch in tow! Hopefully next time the weather will be just right for some proper adventuring.
Now, about those maps yes, we do have walking, cycling, and “furry baby” trails available! They’re usually waiting at reception on the front desk, but it sounds like they were being a bit shy when you visited. I’ll definitely take a look at popping them into our welcome packs going forward much easier to find that way!
As for our food menus, we’ve got you covered! You’ll find all the tasty options and pricing on our website under Food & Drink perfect for planning your meals (or deciding what to tuck into after a long dog walk!).
We do ask that all dogs stay on their leads throughout the park not to spoil their fun, but to help keep them, our guests, and our lovely local wildlife safe. Did you manage to discover our Tuff Mutter area? It’s a bit of a hidden gem, perfect for curious pups to play and explore. If not, it’s one to pop on the list for next time!
Now, onto the shop you’re right, it’s not quite there yet! We’ve had a few bumps along the way, but the shop is definitely coming soon and will be filled with essentials, goodies, and probably a few naughty sweet treats too.
Thanks again for taking the time to share your thoughts we really appreciate it and hope to welcome you back soon for more fun, fresh air, and maybe a cooler breeze!
P.S Thanks for the great pictures just look at that sky stunning.
Beautiful place, would have lots to do pitches themselves are great
Shelduck (area 3) electric gravel and hardstanding touring pitch
Liked Beautiful scenery and location was really good
Disliked Toilets and showers smelt. Staff member hiding in toilet instead of cleaning. No soap in dispenser.
Security waste of time, didn’t ask to see bands when registration couldn’t be read, just pressed the button in hut and let us through. What’s the point of having security.

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback.
We’re so pleased you enjoyed the beautiful scenery and our fantastic location we’re very lucky to be surrounded by such natural beauty and we’re glad that stood out to you.
That said, I’m truly sorry to hear about the issues you experienced during your stay. We take your comments regarding security very seriously and will be speaking with the full team to ensure the correct procedures are being followed at all times. Security is a key part of maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for all our guests.
I also apologise for the lack of soap in the shower blocks our Touring team should be checking and topping this up as part of their daily cleaning routine, and we’ll be reinforcing this moving forward.
As for the odour you mentioned, this can occasionally happen due to the natural surroundings we’re in. However, we absolutely aim to manage this where possible and keep our facilities clean and fresh at all times.
Thank you again for your comments feedback like this helps us continue to improve. We hope to welcome you back in the future for a more positive experience.
Great stay and lots to do for kids! Will be back for sure!
Shelduck (area 3) electric grass touring pitch
Liked Great facilities and lots included in price when booked.
Disliked No shop on site and online it said no tents allowed so our friends could not join but when we were there, there were numerous tents alone camping. So would be good to know if tents are allowed or not,

From the manager: Thank you for your feedback we’re delighted you enjoyed the facilities and all the fantastic activities included when booking directly with us. From swimming to our entertainment programme, we’re proud to offer a great value experience for all our guests.
Just to clarify, we no longer allow camping or standalone tents at any of our parks. Awnings are permitted, but they must be attached to your vehicle at all times.
We're also pleased to let you know that our on-park shop will be opening very soon, making it easier for guests to pick up the essentials like bread and milk along with a few extra niceties!
Thanks again for taking the time to share your thoughts. We hope to welcome you back again soon!

From the manager: We’re absolutely dancing with the geese on Shelduck 3 after reading this thank you for the glowing 10/10!
We’ve been working hard behind the scenes and are so pleased you’ve noticed the improvements from our freshly invested grass and hardstanding pitches to our brilliant Touring Team who keep everything running “spit spot” every day!
Your kind words mean the world and we can’t wait to welcome you back for more lakeside laughs and goose-approved adventures!
Will return once again.

Disliked Bathroom a little bit dirty one day of our stay
Recommend to friends Visit again
From the manager: Thank you so much for your 5-star feedback we really do appreciate it!
We’d usually be celebrating receiving 5 stars, but we completely understand that the issue with the dirty shower block has put a bit of a damper on things. Please accept our apologies for this.
Our Touring Team carry out daily checks to keep the facilities clean, but it seems we may have missed something on this occasion. Thank you for bringing it to our attention we’ll be sure to follow up with the team to prevent it happening again.
We hope to welcome you back soon for a much smoother experience!
Dirty and disorganised

Liked Nothing
Disliked When we arrived the person in the pitch next to us took most of our pitch too, when I spoke to the staff they said they would come down and sort it out. I waited an hour for them and when they still didn’t come I found another pitch and just parked there.
There was dog poo everywhere, the toilets were disgusting, somebody puked at the back of our motor home.
People were driving like it was a racetrack even though there were children everywhere. We left a day early because it was so bad
Recommend to friends Visit again
From the manager: Thank you again for sharing more details I’m honestly so sorry to read this, and I completely understand why you left early. This is not the experience we ever want our guests to have, and I’m deeply disappointed to hear how your stay unfolded.
It’s unacceptable that you had to move pitches yourself after being told someone would come and assist you and then no one followed up. That should never have happened, and I am so sorry you were left to deal with that alone.
The cleanliness issues you experienced, including the dog mess and the vomiting near your motorhome, are shocking and absolutely not the standards we hold ourselves to. Our toilet and shower blocks are meant to be cleaned and checked regularly throughout the day, and I’ll be raising this directly with our team to understand what went wrong.
It’s also very concerning to hear about the driving behaviour on park. The safety of our guests especially children is a top priority, and I will be speaking with our Touring Manager and team about ensuring that speed limits and site rules are not just in place, but properly enforced.
I completely understand your frustration and your decision to leave early. You came here for a break, and instead you were met with stress, discomfort, and disappointment. I’m truly sorry that we let you down in so many ways.
Please know we are taking this seriously and will be addressing every point you’ve raised. Please feel free to reach out to us on enquiries@meadowbay.com
Would recommend it to others
Shelduck (area 3) electric grass touring pitch
Liked Fantastic place looks like it could return back to as it was in the early days
Disliked It appears that it’s in administration may be wrong. Please make sure if you’re disabled he put you near toilet and shower block not a 15 minute walk or show a pity that there is no shop on site even to get the minimum essentials.
Recommend to friends Visit again
From the manager: Thank you for your feedback we're so pleased to hear you had a fantastic stay and that the park gave you that nostalgic feeling from the early days!
Just to reassure you, we are not in administration. We took over the park around a year ago and have been making significant investments to enhance every area for both holidaymakers and owners. Some of the exciting changes we've made so far include:
The arrival of our adorable new alpacas, who’ve already become a firm favourite with guests
Brand-new Azure Horizons glamping pods a stylish and unique way to stay
Stunning Platinum holiday homes with private decking and hot tubs
Lockers added to the swimming pool area for convenient and secure storage
The introduction of our Zen Den sensory room, a calm, inclusive space for guests needing a relaxing environment
A fantastic entertainment and activities programme designed for all ages
We’ve made huge progress in a short time and we’re only just getting started! There’s still so much more to come as we continue to develop and enhance the park.
We do understand your comment regarding the shop while it is not currently open, it is part of our improvement plans and will be coming soon.
And if you or a loved one have accessibility needs, we strongly encourage letting us know when booking, so we can do our best to place you near essential facilities like toilets and shower blocks.
Thank you once again for taking the time to share your thoughts. Your feedback helps us continue to grow and improve and we can’t wait to welcome you back again soon!
