Positiv We had a lovely time at Litton Lakes and would definitely go back for a day visit.

Beautiful location and great for paddle boarding/kayaking. Great facilities around the lake for picnics and a lovely new Childrens park too.
We didn't hire a paddle board (have our own) but it seemed very easy to do through QR code.

Cafe- Coffees/Cakes were lovely and although we didnt eat hot food, it looked nice.

Negativ Not sure I would camp overnight again as facilities (showers, toilets) weren't the best.
I think the owners/managers could do way better with facilities; then it would be more appealing to families.

Showers were cold most of the time (mainly due to lack of sun as solar heated), needs a backup heater when days a Gloomy. Water Spray fro. Shower went everywhere except front-wards and duting peak times showers/taps had hardly any pressure/hot water when all used at once.

Cafe needs a childrens meal option as nothing suitable for kids to be honest; even bacon sandwiches finished by lunchtime.

Rules of "no loud music", "lower voices after 9pm" and "quiet after 11pm" never adhered to; not enforced by managers of site.

Positiv The lamdscape and flat ground for tent, lake.

Negativ Due to solar power hot water was available only during the day. No hot water in basin to wash hand or face.Unisex toilet and bathroom. Booking fee for kayak was way expensive.

Positiv A really beautiful site with a lovely paddleboard/ swim lake. The scenery around the site was amazing. The Cafe was a nice place to grab a coffee. We all really enjoyed our break ☺️

Negativ The shower heads could all do with de scaling or better heads. Having a shower without having to wash your hair was impossible as the showers shot water out in all directions.
We were disappointed to find no freezers to freeze your ice blocks. That made it hard to keep food cold. That would be a great addition.

Positiv Lake, location, relaxed feeling of no silly rules or wardens patrolling every few hours. Andy the owner very approachable & interacting with guests. Sarah the warden friendly. Finally Janet the cleaner extremely helpful & advised on local places to see.

Negativ Lack of hot showers. Only luke warm. The main shower block is heated by solar panels. But under load at peak periods the solar alone cannot cope with demand. Therefore needs adapting to solar electric, or solar gas.

Positiv We really enjoyed our time at Litton Lakes and we will definitely return. The camp site is clean and tidy, and the lake is great for swimming and using the paddle board. The staff were friendly and helpful. The cafe was well priced and the food was really good.

Negativ The only down side were the showers. They weren’t that warm and the flow was very weak. However they do advise to use early in the day and after all it is camping so I’m not that bothered by it.

Positiv I almost don’t want to right this as I don’t want people to know about the little gem!!

Following our first visit in June 2025 we had high hopes given how wonderful our first experience was.
Our visit in August 2026 exceeded expectations again. The new additions around the lake of the park, the sauna, the option to hire paddle-boards and kayaks and the additional seating are fantastic.

The lake is the obvious draw for this site, and the fact the site is on the smaller side means the lake never feels crowded.
Our children were on the lake from 9am until the evening each day we were there whether swimming or paddle boarding.

The site is spotlessly clean, the cafe on site is a real bonus, and the staff are always on hand for help but don’t hound you like some sites we have visited.

We generally like to visit new sites and don’t often return, but this place is somewhere we will continue to return to year on year.

Negativ Only wish is was closer to home so we could visit more often!!

Positiv Great site and really reasonable price. Lake was great and unallocated pitches really well spaced out. Seems like they do not pack the site out, back to basics here but with clean toilets and showers that were well looked maintained.

Negativ Few minor things. Site would benefit from more variety in cafe and the 3pm closing was a bit annoying. We were waiting from 2:50pm for a coffee by time we got to the front it was 2:58pm and told we couldn’t have a coffee as they shut at 3pm.
Some form of basic shop would be handy as nothing locally, it’s at least 15 min drive to a shop.
Mirrors and ability to dry hands in the main toilet and shower block would be beneficial as it’s available by cafe.
The amount of dogs was a lot and so many running off leads and on the lake. Given we had a dog and kept by the rules it annoyed us that others didn’t.
