Positiv Clean. Had a lake which is clean, a good swim in it round the island. It's apparently a spring fed, man made lake which is why it is so clean, no creepy crawlies!

Negativ The shower heads need adjusting/changing as they spray everywhere!

Positiv As a single, female elderly traveler (not in your drop-down option list!) I felt very safe. I only discovered this lake this summer, and it is now one of my favourites. I loved my short stay at the lake. So beautiful and peaceful. Great facilities. Only let down is the cafe hours! See you in September. Thank you

Positiv Really relaxing campsite. Our second year visiting and the owners are clearly investing in facilities and improvements.

They don’t oversell so it’s not too crowded. Really enjoyable time and good to see something run so well.

Negativ Nothing. Last year had some niggles but they’ve all been addressed which is another positive!

Positiv Great location
Huge lake

Would definitely return for a day pass but not to camp.

Negativ Loved the solar power showers but not the cold shower in the afternoon when you could do with a decent shower to warm up.

Lack of communication with site staff, pitch up states extras are for duration but was informed it was wrong and charged per night.

Unable to contact anyone during the night when people were still up and screaming until the early hours, when chased this in the morning we were informed the warden was onsite and didn’t hear anything.

Pitches were very close together, which wasn’t nice, didn’t feel like you had much space and were crammed in.

Positiv Loved the lake, lots of room to paddle and swim without feeling over crowded, peaceful and a lovely farmshop just down the road. The local pub was a must visit.

Negativ Pitches were too close together, didn’t like having the tent next to us with their guy ropes almost touching, first night was kept awake until gone 1am with screaming kids running around, someone watching a horror movie and a party.

Positiv Really enjoyed the idyllic lake and surrounding areas; the toilets and showers were well maintained and close by. Great for walkers as you can walk to the beach within an hour!

Loved the setting, the ablution block, ample toilets, showers kept clean

Negativ Essentially we paid £86 for one site which felt unreasonable as another pitch could have been booked out. We had a tent box and a tiny 2 man tent which we could have put on two separate pitches but as we wanted to be close together, we put them both on one pitch

Positiv All facilities were clean and modern.
Lake was well kept.
Location easy to find.
The campsite had a nice atmosphere and was clean and easily accessible.

Negativ When booking via pitch up website my email confirmation said ‘find any available pitch.’
When walking down to the lake a lady asked us if we had wristbands to which my partner and I responded no. She then said well have you checked in and I explained that the email confirmation said to just choose a space.
She bluntly replied “that’s not what we do here.”
I think for our first camping trip this initial communication was a little unpleasant and sarcastic.
Perhaps something to improve on would be to ensure information on confirmation emails is accurate instead of blaming the paying customer.

Positiv Brilliant little campsite. Super friendly. Loved the lake!
Great field with goals for kids to play on.
Didn’t get to the pub but having one 5min down the road is very handy!!

Negativ I think the showers would be my only drawback. They’re solar powered which I love! However it does mean that hot water is very limited. We managed a warm shower at best but there were a few cold showers. Admittedly this was due to being at the lake until evening, but it would still have been nice to warm up.

Positiv Good sized pitch, helpful and friendly staff, visiting ice-cream Landover.
Facilities were decent and clean for a campsite.
No WIFI. Absolutely fantastic....

Negativ Ants! we had ants getting into the campervan and cool box.
