What customers say
This popular, friendly campsite offers spacious, level pitches and clean facilities. The highlight is the beautiful lake, perfect for swimming and paddleboarding. Staff are welcoming, and the cafe is a great addition. Some guests noted limited toilets/showers during busy periods, and a few found the solar-powered showers inconsistent.

Great campsite with the bonus of a great swimming lake.
Unpowered grass site
Liked The view of the lake was beautiful and swimming in it was wonderful. The shower block was modern and tastefully done and the site wasn’t too busy. The cafe was lovely and we will definitely return as it was good value and only 10 miles from home.
Disliked The toilets ran out of loo paper and the showers need some benches or somewhere to put clothes. It was tricky to keep everything dry.

Disliked Lack of lighting in toilets in middle of night, toilet rolls not always topped up

Liked Simplicity itself to book via pitchup
Plenty of flat space between each set-up.
The custom fire pits look funky for rent.
The lake and dogwalking fields were ideal and there's even a chalk-stream to paddle in ..
The two new amenity blocks were ideal and well designed plus Eco friendly! A great improvement since our last visit in 2023 and we WILL be back.
The dog walks are better signposted too and the nearby pub open more hours
Ideal for us and our dog , but very popular with children so we'll stick to low season
Disliked Can't think of anything.

An excellent campsite with a beautiful lake. One of the best around
Unpowered grass site
Liked The Lake is clearly the best part of the campsite, it is beautiful and such a wonderful offering. We spent time paddleboarding and swimming - it was gorgeous on such a hot day. But there are so many other things that are just as brilliant - the campsite isn't too big, so it never feels overcrowded. The playing field was a hit with our children and the new toilet block is very welcome.
Disliked Some showers lost water pressure, and the water wasn't that hot. I appreciate that this may be because it is solar-powered.

Liked I always enjoy my stay here and have come back many times. This year, the toilet block has been upgraded which is great and the edge around the lake gives easier access to the water which is brilliant. I will be back soon

Very dog friendly.
Unpowered grass site
Liked Fantastic site with lake for swimming and cooling off the dog. Brand new toilet and shower block that was kept beautifully clean. Helpful and friendly warden. Great views and location. Lovely countryside walks, with the off lead dog walking field a real bonus. Firepits to hire are much better than watching the TV.
Disliked Having to leave.
