If you'd like to be in an Oklahoma land of hiking and biking, boating and fishing, but be close to city lights too, settle down for a spell at Big Chief RV Park, a couple of minutes' drive from Ponca City and just over an hour from Oklahoma.
Welcoming long and short stays, the park is in a region of rivers and lakes for fishing, boating and other watersports, including Kaw Lake, Lake Ponca and the Salt Fork of the vast 1,469-mile Arkansas River. The swimming beach, playground, golfing, hiking, fishing and boating of the Lake Ponca Recreation Area are all a few minutes' drive from Ponca City.
Big Chief RV Park has spacious pitches with plenty of grassy areas around; free wifi, free cable TV, bathrooms and a laundry service. Pets are welcome as long as owners clear up after them and keep them on leads while out and about in the park.
Barbecues are allowed and there are fire rings on site.

Many sites set a maximum occupancy of 6/8 people per pitch, so try breaking your booking down into smaller groups to generate more results. For example, if you’re a group of 10, enter 5 people in your initial search and then book 2 pitches.
However, where the pitch or accommodation occupancy allows it, you can make a booking for up to 30 adults and 30 children in one booking.
To book multiple pitches or accommodation, use the 'Special requests' box on the booking page to ask to be sited together. Complete the booking form for the first booking (you can add a password and save your card so that we remember your details). Then click "Make another booking like this" at the top of the confirmation page to make the next booking.
Large groups: check the listing page for any group restrictions set out in the terms and section titled ‘Please note’.
Large tents/caravans: check the restrictions on unit dimensions to ensure your unit is suitable for the space you will be provided with.

The Ponca City region is well known for its fishing and watersports, at the nearby waterways of the Arkansas river, Lake Ponca and 38-mile Kaw Lake with 170+ miles of shoreline for jetskiing, hiking, fishing, horseback riding and swimming off three beaches.
The region is named after the Ponca tribe, whose chief argued successfully in US Supreme Court in 1879 that Native Americans had the same legal rights as United States citizens. His statue is at the intersection of Highway 60 and Standing Bear Parkway, and a park and museum are named after him in town.
Ponca City is home to several landmarks on the National Register of Historic Places including the Poncan Theatre, the E. W. Marland Mansion, Marland's Grand Home and the Pioneer Woman Statue and Museum, honouring the women who settled Oklahoma.
More local history is at the Conoco Museum, covering the history of the energy company, and the Cann Memorial Botanical Gardens, named after former Ponca City civil leader A Cann.
A few minutes from downtown Ponca is the Lake Ponca Recreation Area, with beach, playground, golfing, hiking, fishing and boating. For family days, the Sun-N-Fun Lagoon waterpark has waterslides, a wave pool, a lazy river, bumper boats, go karts and batting cages.
