You'll probably have heard of La Rioja… for verily it's the area of northern Spain famed for the wine of its three regions.

But very much also worth a mention in the area are the Sierra de la Demanda, the Iberian Peninsula mountain range that surrounds quiet countryside site , and the Cárdenas river that flows alongside it, and the splendid vineyard-filled landscape all around… You'll likely like it.

This is a peaceful site in peaceful and mountainous Spanish countryside, about a 20-minute walk from the restaurants, shops and bars of its local village. It has an outdoor seasonal pool with plenty of room around it to in which to relax and sunbathe, and a restaurant and bar serving a wide range of local cuisine. The restaurant terrace overlooks the pool and the bar has free wifi.

Perfect for a night or two but perhaps not for young families. 21/06/2017

The facilities were exceptionally clean and there were plenty of showers and toilets. The washing room was also well appointed.
It was very quiet whilst we were there and very peaceful.
You can get a nice cold beer in the cafe.
The immediate area is very beautiful, we had a couple of great bike rides.

    Disliked:

The pool was closed which is why we decided to move on after 2 nights.
There is not much to do in the area with a toddler, although there is a small park on the site.
