  • Seasonal pool, sunbathing area, playground and shop
  • 300 metres from UNESCO World Heritage Site monasteries
You'll probably have heard of La Rioja… for verily it's the area of northern Spain famed for the wine of its three regions. But very much also worth a mention in the area are the Sierra de la Demanda, the Iberian Peninsula mountain range that surrounds quiet countryside site Camping Berceo, and the Cárdenas river that flows alongside it, and the splendid vineyard-filled landscape all around… You'll likely like it. This is a peaceful site in peaceful and mountainous Spanish countryside, about a 20-minute walk from the restaurants, shops and bars of its local village. It has an outdoor seasonal pool with plenty of room around it to in which to relax and sunbathe, and a restaurant and bar serving a wide range of local cuisine. The restaurant terrace overlooks the pool and the bar has free wifi. Camping Berceo also has a barbecue area, a playground and a small shop for basic supplies. Amenities include a main loo and shower block with facilities for disabled guests, a laundry area and coin-operated washing machines and dryers.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: Great site, nice and quiet. Facilities were really good and clean. Staff were lovely and the bar was a good spot for a coffee in the sunshine. Pitches were a good size and everyone in the more permanent pitches were very friendly. Beautiful walk to the 2 nearby monasteries.

Disliked: Not a dislike but not really anywhere to eat or drink close by when we went. The onsite restaurant was only open at weekends (Middle of September) Not a problem for us but if you are relying on it bear it in mind. Also a lot more expensive than anywhere else we have stayed but still lovely.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: You are able to choose your own pitch and we had a really nice big grass pitch. An authentic quiet Spanish campsite in beautiful scenery. The showers and toilets are clean. The bar serves reasonably priced drinks and you can have meal. Not a huge food choice but perfectly adequate. There's a nice big swimming pool and lots of space to take chairs to sit in the sun. The staff are friendly and helpful especially the man on the reception desk, who made an effort to chat to us. We would love to return.

Disliked: No dislikes.

Electric grass pitch

Electric grass pitch

Liked: The easiest checking in we have had in our trip. The location was very family orientated. The regulars on the site were very friendly and out of nowhere came over to help with a hammer for our tent pegs! Every night by the stroke of midnight, the campsite would fall silent even when nearby family gatherings would be in full flow. Amazing place. The bathroom facilities were very clean and regularly cleaned. Showers were excellent! Big shower heads delivering always hot water. The pool was a hit with the kids and adults alike. Never busy even in august. Always plenty of room. Wash and changing facilities beside the the pool were very clean also. The restaurant was very welcoming with plenty of good food and drinks. If we were in the area, we would have no question about stopping in Camping Berceo again.

Disliked: The only slight downside ( and it is slight) were the ants on our pitch. But, being good ants, nearly all stayed out of our tent... only the odd missguided one wandered in. There are a few flies about too but at least there were no mosquitos!

Electric grass pitch

Liked: Lovely peaceful site overlooking some amazing scenery. Great pitch sizes, all very private. The onsite bar/ restaurant is nice and cheap serving lovely food. The pool looked great but we didn’t get the chance to use due to the rain. The location is amazing, we enjoyed a great walk around the local area to a couple of Monasteries. The staff mainly spoke Spanish but did speak a little English to help us out. They were all very friendly and helpful. Even leant us an extension lead for the electric, which was super helpful!

Disliked: Lots of flies around the bar area. Would have been helpful if there was a menu so you can see what food is on offer. We had to ask and everything was great, but would be easier if it was clear.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: Big pitches in the shade, great pool and facilities, very clean bathroom area and lots of space for washing dishes. Friendly staff and great bar/restaurant prices. Lots of great walking options around the site to watch for birds of prey. Great family venue.

Disliked: There are lots of long term statics in the center of the site and this made it quite loud and very busy. Would have liked more information about food throughout the day as nothing was advertised and we only found out on the last day that the lunch options were more plentiful than the evening selection. Our pitch had a spoiled area that local cats were using as a toilet.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: Very good facilities - including toilets, massive washing area, bar, small shop. Cheap bar. Great pools and grass sun terrace areas. Pitch was flat and decent size.

Disliked: Lots of well established trees make for decent shade, but a bit of a faff to negotiate a big van in to. We happened to visit when Berceo was hosting a thrash metal concert. 😂
