  • About 100 metres from the beach in the small resort of El Campello
  • Close to a tram stop for the 10-kilometre trip to Alicante
  • Pets welcome on site; dog-friendly beach a short walk away

Balmy beach walks, sauna steaming sessions and day trips to the ace port city of Alicante are all a cinch from this good and sunny spot on Spain’s Costa Brava: Camping Bon Sol is 100 metres from the beach in the vibrant El Campello resort and a short and simple drive from Alicante’s long waterfront, historic old quarter and buzzing bar scene.

The small person- and pooch-friendly friendly Muchavista beach is an easy amble from the site and has oodles to ensure you don’t remain idle, with watersports kit rental for days on the sea and a scenic promenade for strolls and energised jogs, plus a summer program of events and entertainment that takes place right on the beach.

It's mucho easy to get around under your own steam via public transport too, as there's a tram service that stops 50 metres from the property and whizzes passengers right into Alicante’s historic and highly handsome core. Prefer to pedal? Site staff can help you to organise bike rental instead, as it’s only about 45 minutes’ bike ride.

Back at base, prepare to get properly relaxed, at the Finnish sauna and with strolls around the shaded avenues. A ping pong table and pétanque sort active spells, and if you fancy a wander off site to scope out your locale, plenty of restaurants, shops and bars are within walking distance.

Potentially a lovely site however if it is cleanliness and a tiny bit of luxury and you have children forget it, shouldn’t be charging more than five euros a night, like a seventies campsite, lots of French and have to say their toilet cleanliness is not great tissue has to be thrown into a bucket or like the French anywhere, children’s entertainment consists of a dirty old concrete ping pong table, their are much better sites than this dump at the same price or cheaper so give this one a swerve, nice folk but a dump !!

From the manager...

Thank you very much for your frank and vehement comments. Deploring your bad experience, we note, however, that the price was not much more than five euros / person, since it was € 14 / night, which included two people, and the extra person is € 1 more.

Local attractions

There’s lots of getting active in the sea to be done nearby: surfing, windsurfing and paddleboarding are all available at a surf club a short walk away, and a sailing club within strolling distance offers lessons too.

On Spain’s sunny Costa Blanca, Alicante’s vibe is fably fun and foodie, with a restaurant and bar scene that’s famed across the land. Head for an amble around its old town, Barrio de la Santa Cruz, via narrow streets, colourful dwellings and on up to the medieval hilltop fort of Castillo de Santa Bárbara for wide-angle vistas out over the Mediterranean coast.

Self-confessed foodies, you’re an easy hour’s drive from pretty little seaside resort of Dénia: it’s famed for its red prawn and heap of of top-notch restaurants, one with three Michelin stars and lauded as being among the world’s top 50. In fact, the Alicante region is hailed as the country’s gastronomic mecca, with its abundance of fresh fish and seafood dishes, flavoursome fruit and veg and delicious sweets like Villajoyosa’s Valor chocolate.
