There’s lots of getting active in the sea to be done nearby: surfing, windsurfing and paddleboarding are all available at a surf club a short walk away, and a sailing club within strolling distance offers lessons too. Self-confessed foodies, you’re an easy hour’s drive from pretty little seaside resort of Dénia: it’s famed for its red prawn and heap of of top-notch restaurants, one with three Michelin stars and lauded as being among the world’s top 50. In fact, the Alicante region is hailed as the country’s gastronomic mecca, with its abundance of fresh fish and seafood dishes, flavoursome fruit and veg and delicious sweets like Villajoyosa’s Valor chocolate.
