- Riverside location for watersports and fishing
- Several hikes starting directly from the site
- Pool, volleyball court and bar serving meals
'A very aquatic campsite’ is how the owners of Lerida’s Camping Noguera Pallaresa describe their setup: if you’re the sort who likes watery sports, all you need for diving in is here.
This is all sorted because of the site’s riverside location, in a spot where rafting, canoeing and kayaking as well as fishing are top leisure picks (or ‘a must’, as the Noguera Pallaresa team wisely points out). Rather cleverly, said team has an arrangement with the local hydroelectric company managing the dam to have it opened bright and early of a morn to give more time for people to get out on the water.
Round about, over 60 lakes are in the surrounding area to get out on the water a bit more, but those who tend towards land-based pursuits are sorted too, with several splendidly scenic hikes starting right from the site: families, couples, groups, school trips and bikers making their way through the Pyrenees are sorted with a stay here as well.
On-site facilities include a swimming pool, ping pong tables, a volleyball court and a mini market stocked with essentials. Snacks and quick bites are available at the bar, along with seriously sturdy breakfasts to get you ready for the active day ahead.

Many sites set a maximum occupancy of 6/8 people per pitch, so try breaking your booking down into smaller groups to generate more results. For example, if you’re a group of 10, enter 5 people in your initial search and then book 2 pitches.
However, where the pitch or accommodation occupancy allows it, you can make a booking for up to 30 adults and 30 children in one booking.
To book multiple pitches or accommodation, use the 'Special requests' box on the booking page to ask to be sited together. Complete the booking form for the first booking (you can add a password and save your card so that we remember your details). Then click "Make another booking like this" at the top of the confirmation page to make the next booking.
Large groups: check the listing page for any group restrictions set out in the terms and section titled ‘Please note’.
Large tents/caravans: check the restrictions on unit dimensions to ensure your unit is suitable for the space you will be provided with.

As mentioned, this is a tiptop spot for watersporters who can spend days on the Camping Noguera Pallaresa lake as well as on the dozens in the surrounding area, and for hikers, who can start several scenic trails directly from the site. The Vernedes trail is 10 minutes away.
The campsite is near the town of Sort, 692 metres above the sea and the capital of the Pallars Sobirà comarca; wander a short distance from the town centre for a good selection of shops, bars and restaurants as well as the Sort prison museum. (And did you know that the town name is Catalan for luck and that the Sort lottery shop reckons it’s had a disproportionate number of lottery winners…?)
Also around the area, you could soar above the land with a spot of paragliding, fish in the Noguera Pallaresa, have some steep hiking at the Pica d'Estats, or go rummaging around the countryside on a forage: mushroom picking is popular here in autumn.
