Facilities were very clean and the pool was clean and well maintained.

The owner changed our pitch when we

    Disliked:

Pitches were described as grass on the website as well as being large. They were principally earth and stones and actually quite small. Too small for our 6 man family tent, despite my having provided the dimensions on booking. The owner did give us a different pitch when we asked, however.

The ground being very stiny with virtually no grass was Not very good for camping with a tent!

The campsite is quite run down and overall poorly maintained. The water from the tap nearest to our tent was fine on the first day but then had particles in it. We informed reception but nothing was done, despite him saying he would check the filters.

It is a beautiful area but the campsite is poor.

From the manager...

First of all, we appreciate your comment, even if it is very negative it always helps us to improve, but you have to keep in mind that we are just a 1-star camping, the standards of campsites of 2 or more stars are not applicable to us. But we think that you have given a negative view of the campsite that we do not agree with. There appears to be a lack of consistency between the stars that you give us and what you write.

I do not understand why we were given a 4/10 of cleanness and then you said that the toilets were very clean and the pool too.

Nor do I understand how you can give us 4/10 of suitable for children, if we are the camping with more areas for children in 100 square km. We have 7 play areas for children, mini basketball, ping pong, scalextric, mini football, billiards and we have a special game room for children where you can play table games , plus we have activities for children every Saturday. But if you want activities for children every day, here in Spain you have to find a campsite of 2 or more stars.
As for his claim that the campsite is no grass as seen on the pictures, I think it's a normal situation in the surrounding area because it is the hottest summer in the history of Catalonia, as you have noticed. Every day we have more than 37 ° C. We wished it rained a bit in June and July and it would not be so hot, so we can have a nice green grass on the pitches.
In terms of reference that the soil is not suitable for the tent. We just wanted to tell you that the campsite has been operating for 26 years and has 30 tent pitches , and every day from June to September we have tents on our campsite and had never been any problem to pitch any tent here.
On the subject of the pitch it was our mistake not to offer you a rectangular pitch 10 meters long by 6 meters wide at one end and 4 on the other end. But we think that placing the tent not on the end of the pitch it could have perfectly fit on the pitch, because the pitch had been occupied by the caravans of 4.60 meters before. But once we were informed that in the part of 4 meters the tent did not fit in we offered you an alternative pitch of 10X14 meters. As this pitch was farther from the toilet block and in the upper area of the campsite, we offered you the possibility to change for another pitch that had to get free the next day and was close to the toilet block and measured 10x 10 meters. You told us that you would change the pitch the next day. But you did not do it and did not inform us accordingly, so until the day you said you were leaving we had it at your disposal as well.

As for the problem we had with the water as soon as we were informed we set to fix it. And it took us just a few hours to fix the problem in the water filtration system and change the filter that was keeping out dirt particles that could have come from the well water.

Finally I am very surprised that a family that is so unsatisfied with a campsite has spent there 3 nights (4 days).

I think that all the problems that you could have had in our campsite we tried fix it as soon as we possible, but we'll keep working to improve.
