Searching for hols full of busy days, plenty of pampering opportunities and handy city excursions? Search no more, and head to Vilanova Park, a family-friendly site on the outskirts of Vilanova i la Geltrú city in Catalonia. In a pine wood on the Costa Dorada, the site is well placed for seaside forays. Within four kilometres (a five-minute drive or 15-minute pedal, with bike hire handily on site), guests can be strolling along six kilometres of sand and setting off on salty swims. Prefer more of a freshwater dip? There are two outdoor pools back on site, and a spa and wellbeing centre – with an indoor pool and hot tub – that guests have free weekday access to. Those keen on active pool time might like to opt for aqua aerobics, which is one of the activities regularly on offer on site. When keeping fingertips unwrinkled is preferable, there’s plenty to do in the dry too, with multisports courts and miniature golf to keep guests occupied during the day, and karaoke, shows and discos filling up evenings. A bar-restaurant is the cherry on this sundae, placing convenient eats right on site, and a well-stocked food shop is in place when guests are after a more self-catered affair.

Liked: L'accueil au camping, le personnel sympathique.
Nous avons déjeuné au restaurant deux fois et c'était délicieux.
La buanderie est propre et le prix des machines/séchoirs est correct.
Le camping était calme mais nous étions en décembre.
Les bus pour Barcelone ou Villanova se trouvent devant le camping. Possibilité d'acheter des billets au magasin mais par carnets uniquement.
Supérette pour dépannage.
Grande piscine mais fermée en hiver.

Disliked: Les parcelles sont en pente, prévoir les cales impérativement.
Les parcelles sont suffisamment grandes.
Pas de trottoirs pour circuler.
Des branches d'arbres n'étaient pas taillées et impossible de les éviter en camping-car.

Liked: Excellent facilities, super clean site.
Large plots
Great pool

Disliked: Wanted a swim but the pool was full of families with inflatables screaming and shouting.
Great site for families probably not so much for couples.

Liked: There was lost to do on the site. Food and drink prices were very reasonable and having an on site supermarket was very useful. Also on a short distance from Barcelona central. The park have a bus time table that runs from 8am till 7pm. We were able to get a taxi back in the evening using Cabify which cost us only £45.

Disliked: Although lots of facilities on site, not all of them are to a great standard. I personally wouldn’t bother paying for use of the gym and spar is we visited again as the up keep of the facilities is poor. There is a morning rush for sun beds round the pools (but where isn’t there on holidays). Would however more enjoyable if the pools were cleaned more regularly as you can’t walk though the water without loads of hair wrapping round you fingers and legs. Arrive as early as possible if checking in with a camper or ten. Check in online as well as this does speed up the process… 45 minute wait rather than an hour and a half. The site would deffintly benefit for on more front desk operators and a better check in system. We did however arrive on a Saturday so that’s on the assumption that we experienced the busiest day.

Liked: Bonjour, nous avons juste aimé la propreté a par ça rien d'autre.

Disliked: Accueil Zéro, il ne vous disent pas bonjour même si ont le dit dans leur langue, pas de merci, il ne veulent pas vous servir vos boissons, la sécurité leur comportement et inacceptable il roule avec leur voiture de golf a 30 et quand il voit un touriste il font exprès de roulais en dessous de 10 km pour vous agacé et quand tu les doubles il t envois un avertissement, tous et extrêmement cher, on avaient rajouter 2 jour avant d arriver on et parti avant car insupportable franchement j ai jamais vue ça habituer des camping a Argelès-sur-Mer en 5 étoile incomparable a oui enfants interdit de plonger, sauté,faire une bombe lol a quoi sert la piscine. Franchement c'est propre mais vraiment c'est tous.
Impossible de mettre sais Sardine de tente dans le sol petit cailloux partout, deux petit coin d herbe mais on ne peut pas aller dessus.
Âne et chien qui hurle toute la nuit, franchement impossible de faire connaissance avec ce peuple catalan, franchement jamais je ne retournerai en Espagne catalan, même la plage Zéro sale, pas d animation , plein de méduses vive la France

Local attractions

With public transport connections at the site entrance, this is a well-placed location for city explores. Take a seat first on the bus bound for the centre of Vilanova i la Geltrú, which leaves the site entrance every 30 minutes, then wander about this small coastal city’s beaches, lighthouse, mansions and railway museum. The bus to Barcelona also stops at the site entrance, so climb aboard for to reach the centre. There’s a whole heap of things to choose from here, but if you must narrow it down... The famed Gaudí sites of Park Güell and La Sagrada Familia, the spectacular palace of Montjuïc, shopping on La Rambla, and sampling all the delectable local eats (particularly brunches and tapas) are all musts. Those who prefer to travel under their own steam can reach Barcelona with a 40-minute drive, or stick a little closer to home with a visit to the port city of Tarragona (30 minutes) and its national archaeological museum, Roman amphitheatres, ancient wall and beaches. Staying clear of cities altogether won’t be an issue either. Days off base can be spent on the golf course, sipping vino at a handful of wineries, surfing in Sitges, or sunbathing au naturel at Cala Morisca naturist beach, all within 20 minutes, and guests can cool off at the Aqualeon waterpark or get a real taste for Catalonia at Simón Coll chocolate experience within 30 minutes.
