Nice surroundings but not the best stop for a motorhome. 12/08/2017

Peaceful and quiet. Pool and bar area were well maintained and pleasant. Showerblock was clean and warm and plenty of hot water.

    Disliked:

This isn't a good motorhome campsite. Pitches are all on an incline and there isn't a proper service point. I realise that it is one of the less expensive sites, however I've stayed on FREE Aires that have offered more. It seems that the camping area is very unloved and the focus is on the pool and bar area which seems to attract the locals.

The large number of clean toilets and showers. Good wifi in restaurant. The peacefull quiet location. The friendliness of staff who lent us new pegs for the hard dry ground for free. The proximity to a beatifull aquarfur with parking spaces on the main bridge for photos

    Disliked:

If i had to put something then the showerhead partly came off due to the quantity of water coming through. There were however plenty of other showers that didn't have this problem and which were all free.

    Nada

    Disliked:

Local attractions

The landscapes and activities of Los Arribes del Duero Natural Park next to the site and in the autonomous community of Castile and León are worth the trip for themselves: birdwatching is one of the most flocked to activities here as the park is a bird protected zone, but visitors also launch themselves at hiking, fishing and getting to the Pozo de los Humos or Well of Smoke waterfall, one of the most visited places in all the park.

Boat trips on the Douro river are also somewhat of a must; if you do decide to climb on board, take one towards a stop at Lamego to see its old city centre, its cathedral and the scenic sanctuary of the Sanctuary of Nossa Senhora dos Remédios on the hill of St Stephen. Just over the border into Portugal, take a boat too to the old town and green hills of Pinhão.

A short drive away from the site is the Almendra Dam, sending power to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the nearby Douro River Valley wine region from its heady height of over 200 metres.

75km from there, the city of Salamanca is a nicely cultural day trip out, with recommended sights to see the Plaza Mayor, the cathedral and the San Esteban Church and Monastery.
