On arrival… first of course, your gaze is going to linger on that lake. For quite some time – it's utterly fab. Then you should probably take the lakeside wander for a kilometre or so, then amble back to take a ride on a traditional pletna boat across the lake to Bled Island. Then climb the 99-step stone stairway up to the 17th-century church there to ring its wishing bell – to fervently beg your choice of deity that you can hide away at Camping Bled for another couple of weeks/months…? This stunning Slovenian site is a quiet and family-friendly place, on the shores of Lake Bled at the foot of the Julian Alps in the Gorenjska region, within easy reach of Triglav National Park. Bled town and its 11th-century castle are about a kilometre away, reachable by foot or by bike via a trail that leads from the site and around the lakeshore; elsewhere around, there's fly fishing and rafting to try, the Iglica Falls to gape at and the Triglav National Park to explore – just ask the site's entertainment team for tips on good local tours and attractions. The site restaurant (as excellent as its setting) dishes up local dishes and takeaway food, and there's a well-stocked grocery shop to stock up on bits and pieces for the barbie. The park's baker delivers fresh bread by bicycle every morning before seven – you'll be up by then, of course, making the most of all the hours possible to take in the outdoor pursuits around these spectacular surroundings.

Liked Loved this campsite. Great facilities, the lake is right on the doorstep. Our children loved the playground and trampoline park. Staff so helpful, showers were clean and toilets too. Large pitch for our motorhome. Beautiful stay, would recommend and stay again! Lots of things for children - ours loved the magic show! Laundry facilities are fab! It was lovely to receive some vouchers for our children for local attractions.

Disliked There was a slight damp smell in the showers.

Disliked We booked the accommodation on Pitchup. 80sqm. We paid a deposit of 70 euros and received a partial invoice stating that another 438 euros had to be paid at the accommodation. The campsite did not credit this, we paid the entire reservation again, a total of 588 euros. Upon arrival, we showed our reservation but did not receive the area we paid for, they put us in a much smaller comfort area. So they charged a higher fee for a lower category. Even though I showed the reservation, the owner just laughed and said we could put it where we wanted but not where we paid for. He did not even try to help, and there were plenty of free spaces in the campsite during the week. So in summary, they charged more for a smaller category and even charged 70 euros for that. I do not recommend booking here to anyone because there is chaos in the owner's mind or he is simply anti-Hungarian!
So the invoice you received when booking and the invoice you received when paying are two completely different amounts. They are not helpful at all. If anyone does book here, bring a power converter because they charge three times the price here. They recommended an area where it is rocky and there is no power, my partner asked the owner if he would sleep there? He just laughed at that too. T. Why did we pay almost 600 euros on Pitchup.com when it wasn't on the invoice??

Liked Het schone sanitair, het eten in het restaurant (Zaka).

Disliked Dat voor vrijwel alles extra betaald moest worden. Ook bleek onze rekening 200 euro meer te zijn dan we van pitch up hadden gekregen. Volgens de camping komt dit doordat ‘pitch up’ nog extra comissie vraagt.

Liked Die Lage des Platzes hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Der Brötchenservice mit den Wägen, das Restaurant, die Bar, die Mobilität mit Bus, Bimmelbahn, Zug etc. alles top. Die Ausflugziele und Aktivitäten waren super. Für Kinder wird viel geboten, bester Supermarkt.

Disliked Einige Waschhäuser sind etwas „ungemütlich“, es lohnt sich der Weg ins neue Haus. Waschmaschine und Trockner sind sehr teuer.

Liked Ho apprezzato la pulizia ed i servizi del campeggio!fonti di acqua in ogni dove, la possibilità di noleggiare un "posto frigorifero" nelle zone dei bagni. È a disposizione (previo acquisto gettoni) lavatrice ed asciugatrice. E presente un bagno per lavare il cane. C'è un mini market fornitissimo, e ben due macchinette per caffè e cappuccino ecc. (Cappuccino buonissimo) zona divertimento per bambini con reti elastiche ed il classico parchetto con scivoli ecc.
C'è veramente tutto!!!!

Local attractions

Among the many (many) options around here, you must (must) boat across the lake to Bled Island, where people have lived since prehistoric times – and jolly sensible of them too, as you'll no doubt agree when you clap eyes on the isle. The island's main building is the 17th-century church, where grooms traditionally carry brides up the 99 steps (cor) to ring the wishing bell in the tower beam. Also within easy reach (seriously, you'll need at least a couple of weeks) are the hiking and biking trails of Triglav National Park or taking a walk through Vintgar Gorge, both within 10 minutes' drive, and day tripping out to towns around Lake Bled such as Radovljica (20 minutes) and Bohinj (25 minutes). If your energy levels are up for the hike to Vintgar Gorge, you can get there in about a couple of hours from Bled; if not, book the shuttle bus from the tourist centre right beside the Bled bus station.
