On arrival… first of course, your gaze is going to linger on that lake. For quite some time – it's utterly fab. Then you should probably take the lakeside wander for a kilometre or so, then amble back to take a ride on a traditional pletna boat across the lake to Bled Island. Then climb the 99-step stone stairway up to the 17th-century church there to ring its wishing bell – to fervently beg your choice of deity that you can hide away at Camping Bled for another couple of weeks/months…? This stunning Slovenian site is a quiet and family-friendly place, on the shores of Lake Bled at the foot of the Julian Alps in the Gorenjska region, within easy reach of Triglav National Park. Bled town and its 11th-century castle are about a kilometre away, reachable by foot or by bike via a trail that leads from the site and around the lakeshore; elsewhere around, there's fly fishing and rafting to try, the Iglica Falls to gape at and the Triglav National Park to explore – just ask the site's entertainment team for tips on good local tours and attractions. The site restaurant (as excellent as its setting) dishes up local dishes and takeaway food, and there's a well-stocked grocery shop to stock up on bits and pieces for the barbie. The park's baker delivers fresh bread by bicycle every morning before seven – you'll be up by then, of course, making the most of all the hours possible to take in the outdoor pursuits around these spectacular surroundings.

Consiglio: fornite istruzioni per quanto presente nella tenda:
Abbiamo capito solo il giorno dopo che i letti potevano essere divisi per liberare il tavolino interno e che era presente una presa di corrente e uno scaldino in un cassettone!
(forse c'era anche altro che non abbiamo trovato)

Disliked Abbiamo acquistato una esperienza nelle tende di legno con pod (idromassaggio).
Per quanto pagato ci aspettavamo che fosse compreso il servizio giornaliero di pulizia della tenda in legno (rifacimento letti e cambio accappatoi), ma non era indispensabile.
Sicuramente il bagno che non è stato pulito per due giorni e gli asciugamani non cambiati sono inaccettabili!!!
Chiesta personalizzazione della colazione ma non è stata assolutamente recepita.

Liked The campsite was well spaced out and extremely clean. It is located right on the shore of Lake Bled. There are drink, food and grocery options next to the site.

The toilet and shower facilities are excellent and were kept very clean.

We wouldn't hesitate to return.

Liked A busy campsite. Pre booking is advisable to guarantee a space. I asked for a specific area which was accommodated. All reception staff were friendly, helpful and spoke good English. Good cycling paths around the Lake and paths to visit outlining villages. Fresh bread for sale with restaurants and supermarket on site!

Disliked Due to the time of year being in the trees made it dark and cold. People walking around the lake had no sense of sharing with people on bikes!

In den Duschen ist die Abtrennung zu den Duschsachen recht kurz. Die Sachen werden daher leider nass, wenn man duscht.
Es könnte auch mehr Harken geben, an denen man seine Kleidung und Duschsachen hinhängen kann.

If you're approaching the site through the Karawanks Tunnel, take the E61 to the third exit for Lesce Bled (do not take the second exit). At the roundabout, take the second exit and continue towards Bled. Continue to Ljubljanska cesta, then to Cesta svobode, and after two kilometres, make a slight right onto Kidričeva cesta. Continue along the lakeshore to Camping Bled.

Local attractions

Among the many (many) options around here, you must (must) boat across the lake to Bled Island, where people have lived since prehistoric times – and jolly sensible of them too, as you'll no doubt agree when you clap eyes on the isle. The island's main building is the 17th-century church, where grooms traditionally carry brides up the 99 steps (cor) to ring the wishing bell in the tower beam. Also within easy reach (seriously, you'll need at least a couple of weeks) are the hiking and biking trails of Triglav National Park or taking a walk through Vintgar Gorge, both within 10 minutes' drive, and day tripping out to towns around Lake Bled such as Radovljica (20 minutes) and Bohinj (25 minutes). If your energy levels are up for the hike to Vintgar Gorge, you can get there in about a couple of hours from Bled; if not, book the shuttle bus from the tourist centre right beside the Bled bus station.
