The bags are packed, the sandals are slipped on and you’re off to the Algarve coast. Before you set off for any silky beaches or seaside terraces, set up your base at Oasis Camp in Lagoa, which is rather dreamy indeed… The site has a natural swimming pond fed by fresh spring water, as well as an outdoor fitness area and a surf camp that'll organise your equipment rental or multi-day courses. If surfing isn’t quite your thing, there are also paddleboarding tours to sign up for and yoga classes to get stuck into. Having Lagoa as your location is excellent too. With rows of whitewashed houses, many from the 18th century, there’s plenty to do, whether it’s surfing, dining on typical Portuguese cuisine, visiting Castelo de São João do Arade or driving under 20 minutes to sandy beaches like Praia dos Caneiros and Marinha beach. Oasis Camp has 50,000 square metres of greenery, and as if that isn’t enough to help you relax already, there’s also the pool table and table tennis table on top of the swimming pond. The site runs communal barbecue evenings, as well as excursions across the Algarve. There’s a chilled-out atmosphere, that’s for certain.

Liked Das einzig Positive an diesem Camping ist der Wasserdruck der Duschen, wenn es Wasser gibt .....

Disliked Permanent staubig, so gut wie keine Grünflächen (außer am "Pool") - der "Pool" ist eine kleine schmutzige Pfütze. Die Stellplätze sind teilweise so eng, dass man überhaupt keinen Platz findet. WC und Duschanlage ist nicht nach Männern / Frauen getrennt, was eher bei Frauen zu einem Interessenskonflikt führen könnte. Einfache und lockere Camping Plätze gefallen mir prinzipiell sehr gut, aber verdreckte (WC, Waschbecken, ....) und schlecht instandgehaltene Anlagen, die schlampig geführt sind, absolut nicht, denn gewisse Ansprüche erlaube ich mir auch als jahrelanger Camper zu stellen. Absolut nicht emfpehlenswert.

Liked No me gusto porque las instakaciones no son las adecuadas.

Disliked El acceso es un camino estrecho sin asfaltar de dificil acceso para una autocaravana. Cuando llegamos las instalaciones no tenia nada que ver con lo que se anuncia. no hay bastante potencia de luz ya que no me aguantaba el aire acondicionado por lo que decidimos irnos . Le doy una estrella porque el dueño fue legal y me devolvio el dinero . Lo unico que pierdo es el 20% de la reserva pero con esas condiciones no se puede estar. Es tercemundista.

Disliked Todo sucio y roto, fregaderos imposible de fregar por los grifos en mal estado y sin agua, imposible de ducharse por falta de agua, la luz saltaba cada nada, la atención pésima por parte del responsable, ni unas disculpas, el llenado de depósito de aguas, me fui vacío por q el grifo sin agua, un desastre.para no volver.

If surfing isn’t quite your cup of tea, it’s still possible to get the kids into the water without so much stepping foot on the beach. Slide & Splash (10 minutes’ drive) is a popular water park in Lagoa with slides rather than surfboards. Many of the Algarve’s most popular spots are, of course, within driving distance too. Will you start with Lagos (half an hour), where there’s a steep descent to Praia do Camilo, dramatic cliffs with a lighthouse, a castle and all the stunning terraces within the walled old town? Or instead, begin with Albufeira (25 minutes), which is just a tad quicker to get to? At this spot, join a diving trip (or a dolphin-watching trip if you don’t fancy going down under). Faro (45 minutes) is another stunning location, with plenty of stunning coastal scenery for cyclists to breathe in, as well as a cobbled old town, 13th-century cathedral and a museum in a convent.
