  • Spacious motorhome pitches on a peaceful site in south-eastern Poland
  • Jasienica Rosielna 10 minutes’ drive; Krosno 15 minutes
  • Swimming pool, sauna and spa treatments; restaurant; dogs welcome
In the peaceful village of Kombornia, in a lush corner of the Podkarpacie province of south-eastern Poland, Dwór Kombornia is a relatively small site with pretty big motorhome pitches (about 60 square metres each). This ought to give even a large campervan plenty of room to extend an awning or set up an outdoor area for alfresco relaxation and dining. The site has a number of amenities for your motorhome: from a service point with grey water disposal and water supply to electricity (plus charging facilities for electric vehicles). There’s pampering for people, too, such as an indoor water park with floor-to-ceiling windows (bringing the outside greenery in, as it were…); it has a pool for swimmers, a kids' pool, a sauna room and a Jacuzzi. And if the warm-water jets are not enough to loosen up your tension knots, you might want to book an anti-stress massage at the spa; other treatments include salt scrubs, mud wraps and facials. In addition to a restaurant serving traditional Polish cuisine, the site has a play area and a fenced dog park. However, your canine buddy (if not the kids…) might be happier exploring the spectacular surrounding countryside. Make your way to the Three Waters Waterfall (five minutes’ drive) or to Magura National Park (50 minutes), but be sure to keep your dog on a lead at all times in these protected areas.

Local attractions

In Jasienica Rosielna (10 minutes’ drive) is a vintage car museum with dozens of vehicles – from late 19th-century three-wheeled cars to flashy modern-day Ferraris, via Oldsmobiles, Porsches and Maseratis. And while you gaze at what may be the car of your dreams, you are also doing good, because the museum directly supports a children’s charity. Krosno (15 minutes) has a pretty town centre with pastel-coloured buildings, cobbled streets and arcade-fringed squares. The Craft Museum explores local artisanal production, with items relating to watchmaking, weaving, shoemaking and saddlery. The Glass Heritage Centre illustrates the glassmaking process and displays delicate glass pieces. The atmospheric ruins of 14th-century Kamieniec Castle (15 minutes) sit atop a rocky spur. Needless to say, the place has splendid views of the surrounding landscape. A museum within the structure explores the history of the fortress, and there is also a chamber with a collection of weird and terrifying torture devices.
