Family time at the site

  • Intimate, family-friendly site on the edge of Kampinos National Park
  • Abbey at Czerwińsk nad Wisłą 50 minutes’ drive; Warsaw 55 minutes
  • Playground; next door to an amusement park with a pool and waterslides
The expansive forests and wetlands of Kampinos National Park are at your fingertips when you stay at Julinek CAMP, a small seasonal site (open May–October) on the fringes of this vast nature reserve to the north east of Warsaw (the capital is about 55 minutes’ drive away). However, there’s no need to fret about being lost in the wilderness, away from all modern (urban) comforts: the village of Leszno is only a five-minute drive away along the DW579 road (which has large grassy verges if you decide to walk it – it’ll take you about half an hour). In addition to supermarkets where you can purchase kielbasa sausages and other Polish specialities to throw on the barbecue, there are also a couple of restaurants there. Choose between pitches on the edge of the forest or on a grassy glade. While you set up, the kids can explore what the site has in store for younger guests, starting with a playground (featuring a sandbox, swings and a crow’s nest) and a volleyball net for family tournaments. And there are bigger, more exciting things just around the corner: Amusement Park Julinek (less than five minutes’ walk) has treetop adventure courses, an assortment of bouncy structures and an aquatic park with twisting waterslides (and plenty of poolside loungers for the parents). Back at the site, there’s a modern and well-maintained amenity block with toilets and showers, plus a faucet with running water.

What customers say

This campsite's location is convenient for visiting Warsaw and is ideal for families with young children, particularly those visiting Julinek Park. Guests appreciated the clean toilets and showers, the availability of barbecues, and the relaxed atmosphere. However, some found the reception difficult to locate and parking instructions unclear. Concerns were raised about the distance to facilities, shared facilities with park users, a lack of nighttime security, and occasional noise from the adjacent theme park. The site is working on improving signage and directions.

Liked A convenient place for us to stay.

Disliked A rather odd site! We were greeted warmly by the reception staff, although the reception itself was hard to find. It was also difficult to follow the instructions on where to park, including a need to drive a long distance across a field to reach the electric point. The parking point was quite a long walk from the washing facility. The site was almost unoccupied and one of my fellow travellers thought the neighbouring theme park rather disconcerting.

From the manager: Dear Guest,

Thank you for your feedback. We’re glad you appreciated the warm welcome from our reception team and the affordable price.

We’re sorry that the reception was difficult to find and that the parking instructions were unclear. As the camping area is located on the meadow in front of the hotel, the hotel reception also serves camping guests, and we understand this may not be obvious. We will work on improving signage and directions.

We also acknowledge your comments regarding access across the field and the distance to the facilities. The site’s natural setting can feel very quiet, especially when occupancy is low, and we understand this may not suit everyone.

Thank you again for your constructive feedback.

Kind regards,
Marcin, Site Manager

Liked Nichts

From the manager: Dear Guest,
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations.

We would like to clarify that our camping area is located on the meadow directly in front of the hotel building. The hotel reception also serves camping guests. At the reception desk, guests can check in, receive all necessary information about the camping area, and complete the payment.

Payment for the camping stay is collected in advance at the time of check-in, which is a standard procedure on our property. The partial prepayment required during the booking process via Pitchup is part of the platform’s reservation policy.

Regarding the chemical toilet disposal – as this service requires staff assistance, we kindly ask guests in advance about their preferred time in order to ensure proper support and organization.

We regret that the signage and arrival process were not clear enough and will review this internally to improve the experience for future guests.

Thank you once again for your comments.

Kind regards,
Marcin, Site Manager

Sehr geehrter Gast,

Marcin, Site Manager

Liked site was a good location to visit warsaw, we took the car and then caught the train in. When we arrived we reported to the hotel reception which was really nice and staff were really helpful. The site itself was not what we were used to but the toilets and showers were really clean and the site was quiet even though really it is part of the theme park for younger children. There are purpose built barbecues to use and really nice seating under canopys. We think that the site is perfect for a stop off possibly for two or three nights and perfect if you have young children.

Disliked emptying our cassette toilet was a little stressful as there is no official elsen waste but staff removed drain cover for the sewer so cassette could be emptied and again were really helpful.

Liked Buffet evening meal available at the hotel was good and convenient. Reasonably priced, as well.
If you were going to the theme park (we weren't) it would be a perfect location.

Disliked Toilets share with park users
No perimeter fencing for campsite area - felt very exposed
Several bits of glass on the grass when walking around

Liked Nothing, we left at 5:30 in the morning.

Disliked In the MIDDLE (literally) of a child's playground with very loud music at night, toilets and showers 200 metres across the playground park, unless you are IN the hotel there is no internet.

Liked - perfect for Julinek Park
- very relaxed atmosphere
- lots of activities for children

Disliked - toilets and showers are shared with the park guests, and become overused. May require more regular cleaning

- lack of security at night, the adjacent car park is open to the public

Local attractions

A vast network of hiking and cycling trails (including stretches of boardwalk) takes you through the diverse landscapes of Kampinos National Park, which range from dune systems to marshes and woodland. Keep your eyes peeled for the resident wildlife: elks, beavers and lynx, plus storks, cranes and raptors. The northern stretches of Kampinos reach the Vistula River. Along its banks are scenic points like Tereny zalewowe Wisły (half an hour’s drive), fishing at Nowy Secymin (half an hour) and the 12th-century abbey at Czerwińsk nad Wisłą (50 minutes), which houses Romanesque and Gothic frescoes. Start your exploration of Warsaw from the cobbled Old Town Market Square, lined with elegant, pastel-coloured buildings. From there, check out the 14th-century Royal Castle, or the interactive exhibits at the riverfront Copernicus Science Centre. Among several museums illustrating the history of the city (and the country) are the Warsaw Uprising Museum and the POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews.
