What customers say

This is a well-regarded site with excellent facilities including clean bathrooms, a popular pool and play areas for children. Staff are friendly and helpful. Pitches are described as flat and grassy. The location is convenient for a nearby village with shops and cafes. Some guests found accommodation not entirely clean and noted WiFi could be unreliable. Extra charges for showers were a drawback for some, and limited dining options in the area were mentioned.

Trekkershut shepherd's hut (four person, no pets)

Fully-serviced grass pitch (comfort)

Liked We liked the cafe, and pastries from the shop in the morning were delicious.
The kids loved the pool.
Bathrooms were spotless, clean and tidy all day long.
Only a short walk into the village.

Disliked The girls didn’t like having to pay extra for a shower.

Trekkershut shepherd's hut (four person, no pets)

Liked Great place if the focus is on the kids, plenty of playgrounds, activities. All was clean and staff was very friendly.
Rec.: Call after booking for details and web-camping confirmations, the web might book reservations outside camping rules, they sort it quickly though.

Disliked Restoration options in the area are limited, with not much variety. Fortunately the cabin had a stove and we could cook along.

Local attractions

Hilly Hellendoorn (a 15-minute drive from the site) has windmills and churches to see, but it’s the town’s AdventurePark Hellendoorn, which has over 30 rides and an aqua centre with slides, that you’ll likely be making a beeline for if the kids have anything to do with it. Smart small fry might also get wind of Attractiepark Slagharen, another amusement park, and the dinosaur-themed attractions at Dino Land Zwolle (both about a half an hour journey away by car). The rides at the Plopsa Indoor Coevorden indoor and outdoor theme park (40 minutes away) and Wildlands (50 minutes), a combo of a zoo and an adventure park, are also faves. For adulty activities, check out Rechteren Castle (15 minutes) to have a riverside roam beside a structure built back in the Middle Ages or drive 25 minutes to Gardens Mien Ruys and go on a journey through 30 different styles of landscaping starting from 1924 to now.
