Finding a family-friendly stay less than a five-minute drive from the centre of Lemelerveld? It’s a doddle thanks to Charme Camping Heidepark in Overijssel – this site has a whole host of activities for younger travellers to go gung ho for. This park’s got everything from open-air playgrounds to a big indoor playroom with a ball pit, mini billiard table and table tennis table, not to mention a separate, car-free kids’ ground... Once you’re here and settled in, send the small sorts off to make the most of arts and crafts sessions and woodland adventures organised by the entertainment team at the Duck Club (runs daily in high season) while you sizzle in the sun beside the natural swimming pool. Hot showers are also in this forested area for rinsing off post-wallow or volleyball game. To spend some time with the whole clan, bikes can be rented on site to set off on jaunts around the scenic Lemeler and Archemerberg areas, with lots of cycling trails as well as hiking paths to choose from (just ask on site for recommendations). You can also travel towards spots as varied as cheese farms, old castles and teeny towns – if you can tear the kids away from the heated pool and go-karts, that is… Ommen, a pretty city in the Vecht valley, and the town of Dalfsen are also both under a 20-minute drive from Charme Camping Heidepark for urban explorations.

喜欢 Dat er nog een accomodatie vrij was, ligging was goed vlakbij speeltuin sanitair en speeltuin

不喜欢 Accomodatie was niet schoon, waterkraan buiten op onhandige plek, grote kans op hoofdstoten aan trekkershut dak.

喜欢 We liked the cafe, and pastries from the shop in the morning were delicious.
The kids loved the pool.
Bathrooms were spotless, clean and tidy all day long.
Only a short walk into the village.

不喜欢 The girls didn’t like having to pay extra for a shower.

喜欢 Lovely clean facilities. All the staff we met were very nice, pleasant and helpful.
We had a lovely flat grass pitch.
The kids loved the pool and play areas.
The village nearby is just a short walk and has all sorts of shops.

不喜欢 WiFi was a bit hit and miss.

Hilly Hellendoorn (a 15-minute drive from the site) has windmills and churches to see, but it’s the town’s AdventurePark Hellendoorn, which has over 30 rides and an aqua centre with slides, that you’ll likely be making a beeline for if the kids have anything to do with it. Smart small fry might also get wind of Attractiepark Slagharen, another amusement park, and the dinosaur-themed attractions at Dino Land Zwolle (both about a half an hour journey away by car). The rides at the Plopsa Indoor Coevorden indoor and outdoor theme park (40 minutes away) and Wildlands (50 minutes), a combo of a zoo and an adventure park, are also faves. For adulty activities, check out Rechteren Castle (15 minutes) to have a riverside roam beside a structure built back in the Middle Ages or drive 25 minutes to Gardens Mien Ruys and go on a journey through 30 different styles of landscaping starting from 1924 to now.
