  • Friendly campsite near the Veluwe National Park
  • Pool, activities team and climbing wall
  • Outdoor and indoor playgrounds

We think we can promise a relaxing Gelderland time if you're off to the East Netherlands and stop off for a bit at Camping ‘t Beloofde Land.

It has modern facilities set up for lazily unwinding days: a pool to take a dip in on hot afternoons; an activities team for kids (so parents can lazily unwind) and two playgrounds, one of which is indoors to be retreated to if the weather is less than clement. (There's also a climbing wall for those who say pfft to lazy unwinding.)

Off site, Camping ‘t Beloofde Land is on the edge of the Hoge Veluwe National Park, just outside the village of Barneveld, and close to a restaurant dishing up tasty food around its big centerpiece fountain which is lit at night. A food market is held next to the site in high season: wander to the pavilion here for fresh blueberries and local berry products such as jam, juice, tea, beer, wine, brandy and honey.

Finally, the site owners would like to point out that Camping ‘t Beloofde Land is a Christian site, and that a number of on-site activities centre on faith. Participation in those programs isn’t compulsory and non-Christian holidaymakers are of course welcome on site.

Local attractions

Another restaurant worth a visit is at nearby Berenkuil, laid out on eight hectares containing three rainbow trout ponds – and yes, fishing is allowed...

Camping ‘t Beloofde Land guests could also try tree climbing at nearby Klimbos Veluwe, a family-friendly memory-building venue with many climbing routes of all levels and for all ages.

At the Hoge Veluwe National Park, one of the biggest nature reserves in the Netherlands, get on a (free) bike and pedal to the Kröller-Müller Museum to see art by noted sorts such as Van Gogh and Picasso, and around the park to see species such as red deer, roe deer, foxes, badgers and wild boar.
