  • Dog-friendly holiday park alongside the Veluwemeer
  • A 15-minute drive from Elburg and 20 minutes from Harderwijk
  • Swimming pool with sunloungers, a shop and watersports on site
It’s all about the water at Europarcs Veluwemeer.… learning to sail on the Veluwemeer, swimming in the outdoor swimming pool and watersports like kayaking, pedal boating, and surfing. Splendidly set out alongside the narrow Veluwemeer lake and part of a typical Dutch polder and forest landscape, this dog-friendly site has plenty to occupy the old, young and inbetween. Get out and get to know the polders, moors and forests in the Nunspeet area. There are plenty of historic, cosy villages with their own unique vibe in the surrounding area. Nunspeet is the local artists’ town, a 10-minute cycle or a five -minute drive away, with plenty of shops, restaurants, bakeries and the likes. From there, you might want to snag yourself a spot on a cycling or walking tour into the forests of Vierhouten (15 minutes’ drive), Elspeet (20 minutes) and Epe (25 minutes). There are sand plains to see too, like Hulshorsterzand (10 minutes) and De Haere (15 minutes), for example. Of course, you’ll be getting quite chummy with the Veluwemeer too, since the site is right alongside the water (what a view). Take it in by bike or boat. You may wish to go swimming, sailing, kayaking, surfing or pedal boating or get your water fix elsewhere in the site’s swimming pool surrounded by sunloungers (with snacks from the on-site shop, perhaps).

Local attractions

Curious what culinary findings are around? Vierhouten (15 minutes’ drive) is known as the top culinary spot in the Veluwe, and every October, it hosts the Wild Days, an event specialising in wild meat. The Hanseatic era is in focus in the city of Harderwijk (20 minutes). It’s one of a number of Hanseatic towns in Gelderland and the Veluwe, but especially exciting is its Burgundian culinary scene, shops and dolphinarium (that’s likely to be a hit with the kids). Elburg (15 minutes) is another Hanseatic town and properly scenic. The centre has cobbled streets, there’s a gorgeous harbour and the 1592 Vischpoort gate leads the way into the urban centre. First, some adrenaline and adventure before you tuck into your culinary findings in the Hanseatic towns? Walibi Holland (20 minutes) in Biddinghuizen has a whole host of rides, including river rapids, rollercoasters and spinning teacups.
