Well, what a spot to rest world-weary heads. When you’re craving an adults-only hideaway in the Veneto Alps, surely Agricampeggio l’Essenza will suit? Set high on a mountainside with spectacular views of Lake Garda, this pristine and peaceful spot really is a rather special sanctuary from modern life. By day life drifts around the outdoor swimming pool and sun deck overlooking the lake. When you’ve had your fill of lazing on a sun bed or swimming leisurely laps, retire to the terrace bar and enjoy a glass of something chilled while you watch the sun set over the lake. If you can summon up enough energy, head down to the lakeside for pasta and seafood feasts in Castelletto (15 minutes’ drive) restaurants, or pick up picnic supplies in the basics store in pretty Brenzone sul Garda (20 minutes). Chances are, however, that you’ll prefer to hang out at your mountain retreat and cuddle the rabbits that run freely about the place. Pick a spot among the tree-shaded terraces on the hillside, all facing the lake and all equipped with electricity and water. Facilities include a modern shower and toilet block, with separate facilities for men and women, a dishwashing area and a USB charging point so you can power up devices and keep in touch with the outside world.

Liked This was a wonderful stay!

The property is beautiful, with meticulous attention to ensuring that guests have a wonderful experience.
The property is set high up on the hill overlooking Lake Garda with a spectacular view.

Our pitch was relatively private, the orientation of the tent pitches means that there are more secluded spots as we don’t have a van or car that can be on the pitch area.

We had power and water which was great.

Easy access to the bathroom amenities. The bathrooms were spotless and the nicest campground bathrooms I have seen.

There was a lovely pool to sit by and the site has cafe with a nice food and drinks menu which didn’t disappoint.

Day 2 of our stay we started with coffee at 10:00am and ended the evening with Limoncello at 10:00pm.
We ate and drank. Other guests also came and sat at the cafe area which was really nice.

The light breeze and the sunshine sitting in the hill was just the type of day we needed. Very relaxed.

Disliked Not a dislike, more of a suggestion. Perhaps a walking trail to the top of the property and a service that runs a few times a day to drop off and pick up guests who want to go to the lake for a walk or a meal but don’t want to drive and battle for parking.

Liked Toll mit viel Liebe angelegter Platz. Sehr ruhig, nette, freundliche Gastgeber. Man kann in gemütlicher Atmosphäre etwas e iessen und trinken.

Liked Zeer mooie accommodatie, ontvangst was zeer hartelijk. Zeer mooi uitzicht. Niet ver van het Garda meer. We zaten juist naast de bar en het was geen probleem om drank en eten tot bij ons te brengen. Zeker aan te raden!

To reach the site, you must take the main road. From the direction of San Zeno di Montagna, the site is 500 metres after the Fasse restaurant on the right. Don't leave the main road for any of the dirt roads or other turnings.

If you can tear yourself away from those stunning Lake Garda views on site, cyclists and walks can get a different perspective on the lake by following the gentle Malcesine cycle and pedestrian path (25 minutes’ drive) as it meanders along the shoreline. If you’ve got a head for heights, grab a seat in a rotating car on the Malcesine cableway (half an hour) and head up to the summit of Monte Baldo for more far-reaching views over the lake and surrounding peaks. The historic city of Verona (55 minutes) repays a day trip with city vistas from the top of the spindly Torre dei Lamberti, a romantic stop-off at Casa di Giulietta of ‘Romeo and Juliet’ fame and an aperitivo in a lively Piazza Bra café, as well as a summer-long opera festival in the ancient Roman-era Arena. Need break from culture? Bring out your inner child on the rollercoasters and splash rides at Gardaland Resort (40 minutes), check out the movie-themed attractions and shows at Movieland Studios (35 minutes), or venture through the shark tunnel at Gardaland SEA LIFE Aquarium (40 minutes).
