How’s this for a splendid location for a seaside break? Camping Taimì is in the Tuscan resort of Marina di Massa, a mere five-minute stroll from the free sandy beach. This location – between the centres of Marina di Massa and Marina di Carrara – is a handy one too for amenities and activities. There are several places to eat or pick up food supplies within a few minutes’ walk, and you’ll have a great choice of free and equipped beach spots to pick from too. Can’t summon up the energy to head out in search of food? No problem – there’s a bar on site that sells fresh croissants for breakfast, salads and sandwiches at lunch and a tempting range of ice creams and doughnuts alongside all the usual drinks. It’s also open in the evenings for your post-beach cocktails or dinner. To keep you entertained on site, there's an open-air pool with sun loungers, along with a soccer cage and a library/book swap – picking something up from here and heading over to the shaded reading area (kitted out with hammocks and comfy chairs) is a fine use of an afternoon. Facilities have been well thought out here, with bathrooms that include amenities designed for kids and disabled visitors, plus a launderette and washing-up facilities. Dogs are welcome to join you on holidays here too, with an exercise area, dog shower and dog-sitting service on hand to make sure they’ll be well looked after.

Liked: L ombre et emplacement spacieux.

Disliked: Beaucoup de bruit, routes passagère, autres campings , absences d'animation au camping, bar fermé, sanitaires vétustes et sales, absence de bac pour le laver le linge, absence de location de réfrigérateur. Accueil peu convivial à part une jeune femme dynamique qui nous a accueilli la première journée. Une piscine petite , profondeur 1,20 m ( interdiction de sauter ni plonger) et froide. Absence de point d'eau sur l'emplacement alors que c'était indiqué.

Liked: Ruime plek, rustige camping, veel ruimte op het zwembad, erg lief personeel bij de receptie en bar. sanitair gratis en goed, app erg handig ook voor de omgeving, veel schaduw op de plek, dicht bij het strand.

Local attractions

If you’re not one for lying on the beach you should find plenty of ways to keep busy nearby – perhaps riding bikes along the cycle path to Forte dei Marmi, taking a stroll along the wooded path in Ugo Pisa Sport Park or heading up into the Apuan Alps Park (about 20 minutes’ drive) for hikes, mountain biking and climbing along with a visit to the Monte Corchia cave system (an hour). A little way along the coast the Cinque Terre National Park (45 minutes) is also a wonderful place for a walk, as there’s a fabulous coastal path linking the villages. You can also see the scenery on a boat trip from Portovenere (an hour) – leave a little time to explore the village and its colourful seafront too, and to take a walk out to Lord Byron’s Cave. Elsewhere nearby there are several wineries to visit, or you could plan day trips to some of Tuscany’s attractions – Pisa (40 minutes), Florence (an hour and a half) and Siena (two hours) are all doable for days out.

Booking terms and conditions

Admission

Admission is only permitted after registering at reception.
All guests spending the night at the park must present their ID at the reception desk and sign registration forms.
Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.
Units will be allocated on arrival.

Changes to your holiday

Changes cannot be made once you have booked.

Dogs

Dogs are not allowed if you are staying in the accommodation units.
Dogs must be kept on leads and supervised at all times.
The site only allows dogs up to 25kg.
Your dog must be tattooed or microchipped.

General

The bar is open between 06/04 and 16/09.
The management reserves the right to deny access or terminate the stay of those guests whose behaviour is deemed unsuitable. No refunds will be offered.
The restaurant is open between 06/04 and 16/04.

Hired accommodation

Hired accommodation: €100.00 (£87.08) damage/cleanliness/bracelet deposit is required on arrival and will be refunded on departure after inspection of your unit should no damage/losses be found.
No naked flames are allowed inside the hired accommodation units.
The damage/cleanliness/bracelet deposit required on arrival can only be paid for in cash.
Your unit must be left clean and tidy; a fine of €100.00 (£87.08) will be charged for unclean units upon departure.

Pitches

Units should not be left unoccupied unless previously agreed with the management. Please speak to reception when the need arises, a fee may be charged for unsupervised units.
You must follow the management directives when pitching your tent/unit and related equipment.

Pool

Only park guests are authorised to use the pool.
Please note there is no lifeguard on duty.
Some facilities require the wearing of swim caps.
The outdoor swimming pool is open between 19/05 and 15/09 (subject to weather conditions).

Safety

Firearms are not permitted.
Fires, barbecues and/or firepits will not be permitted in dry, windy and/or hot weather conditions.
No charcoal barbecues allowed.
Open fires are prohibited.

Vehicles

Only one car is to be parked by the pitch. Extra vehicles must be parked in the designated area.
The car is only included in the rate if you are travelling with a touring caravan or a tent. If you wish to bring a car along with your motorhome/campervan please select the extra.

Visitors

Visitors must leave the premises by 11:30 p.m..
Visitors must register at reception and pay their fee.
