You may think that a campsite by the beach is something of a dream location… but why not go one better with a campsite that has its own private beach? That’s exactly what you’ll get at Camping Sanfilippo, on the outskirts of Cefalù on Sicily’s north coast. Yes indeed – this site has direct access to its very own stretch of beach, which has a mix of fine sandy areas and craggy rocks to climb on – and it’s all free for site guests to use. It’s all very handy for families who’d like to hang out at the beach, as you can easily mix up seaside time with hours spent at the play area or the multisports area (for five-a-side football, basketball, volleyball, table tennis or table football) – and all without the need to travel from the site. Of course, it is a wise option to leave the site from time to time, as this is a fabulous part of the world to explore, especially if you like beaches. There are several lovely sandy areas to visit nearby, and that’s all made nice and easy by the campsite’s partnerships with local agencies that hire out bikes, scooters and quads. If you’d like to venture a bit further, have a chat to the people at reception who can hook you up with organised excursions to the Aeolian Islands or other destinations in Sicily. Another handy feature of this site is the hourly shuttle bus that runs to Cefalù for city centre strolls and shopping. If you don’t fancy the journey, pick up supplies at the site’s mini market or grab a table at the bar to have cool drinks brought to you.

Liked Top terrace was a good space, clean toilets and showers.we were fortunate not to have any one either side of us, if we had it would have been very tight for room,

Disliked As we had free spaces either side of us people were coming to enjoy the view and making a bit of a party at sunset time.
also people walking dogs were never seen to have poo bags, I wonder what happens if dogs mess????

Liked „Pobyt na Camping Sanfilippo był wspaniałym doświadczeniem. Kemping położony jest w pięknym miejscu, blisko morza, w otoczeniu zieleni i z wyjątkowo spokojną atmosferą. Na terenie obiektu jest bardzo czysto i cicho, co pozwala naprawdę odpocząć i zrelaksować się.
Dużym atutem są piękne i zawsze zadbane sanitariaty. Na miejscu znajduje się również sklep, dzięki czemu wszystko, co potrzebne, jest pod ręką. Obsługa jest niezwykle miła, pomocna i zawsze uśmiechnięta, dzięki czemu goście czują się mile widziani od pierwszego dnia pobytu.

Liked Sehr schön angelegter Platz mit guter Lage optimal wenn man von der Fähre aus Palermo kommt. Ein Busshuttel fährt vom Platz nach Cefalu’. Die Sanitäranlagen sind sauber. Kleiner Strand halb Kies halb Sand. Personal ist sehr freundlich.

Liked Sauberkeit auf dem Platz und im Sanitärbereich, die Mitarbeiter, die jeden Gast perfekt einweisen. Die grandiose Aussicht. Gute Busverbindung nach Cefalu.

Local attractions

Cefalù (10 minutes’ drive) is well worth some of your time – the resort town has a maze of medieval streets to stroll through, plus a Romanesque cathedral and an interesting ancient washhouse that’s been turned into an art gallery. Energetic types can also climb La Rocca, but there’s also the option of more beach time if you’d rather relax. A little way south (15 minutes’ drive) is Parco delle Madonie, a 35,000-hectare nature reserve that’s got some great hikes and bike rides plus cute villages like Castelbuono (half an hour), Isnello (35 minutes) and Castellana Sicula (50 minutes), all of which are good for a wander and a meal. For a full day out, take yourselves over to Palermo (50 minutes) to visit the Palatine Chapel, the cathedral and the catacombs, and to pick up tasty street food at the various markets.
