You may think that a campsite by the beach is something of a dream location… but why not go one better with a campsite that has its own private beach? That’s exactly what you’ll get at Camping Sanfilippo, on the outskirts of Cefalù on Sicily’s north coast. Yes indeed – this site has direct access to its very own stretch of beach, which has a mix of fine sandy areas and craggy rocks to climb on – and it’s all free for site guests to use. It’s all very handy for families who’d like to hang out at the beach, as you can easily mix up seaside time with hours spent at the play area or the multisports area (for five-a-side football, basketball, volleyball, table tennis or table football) – and all without the need to travel from the site. Of course, it is a wise option to leave the site from time to time, as this is a fabulous part of the world to explore, especially if you like beaches. There are several lovely sandy areas to visit nearby, and that’s all made nice and easy by the campsite’s partnerships with local agencies that hire out bikes, scooters and quads. If you’d like to venture a bit further, have a chat to the people at reception who can hook you up with organised excursions to the Aeolian Islands or other destinations in Sicily. Another handy feature of this site is the hourly shuttle bus that runs to Cefalù for city centre strolls and shopping. If you don’t fancy the journey, pick up supplies at the site’s mini market or grab a table at the bar to have cool drinks brought to you.

喜欢 Superb location close to sea, pitches arranged on different levels, some directly facing the sea. Short drive to Cefalù.

不喜欢 No hand soap or loo roll in the loos. No hot water for washing up.

喜欢 Die Anlage ist sehr sauber und gepflegt. Sie liegt direkt am Meer an einem Kiesstrand. Zum Sandstrand kommt man über den Kiesstrand. Nach Cefalu gibt’s einen Shuttle-Bus. WLAN steht kostenlos unbegrenzt zur Verfügung.

不喜欢 Im Sanitärbereich fehlen die Haken und warmes Wasser gibt’s nur gegen Bezahlung. Das Toilettenpapier muss selbst mitgebracht werden.

喜欢 Tolles Team, dass auf unsere Ankunft am späten Abend extra gewartet hat. Sehr schön gestaltete Anlage, direkt am Meer (Steine)
Viele große Bäume, ausreichend große Plätze und sehr schön gestaltete und saubere Sanitäranlagen.

不喜欢 Dass wir unser eigenes Toilettenpapier mitbringen mussten, war erstmal etwas ungewöhnlich 🤭

喜欢 Mi è piaciuto molto sempre tutto in ordine e pulito con acqua nella piazzola

不喜欢 Non mi è piaciuto il fatto che in un campeggio a 4 stelle ci dovrebbe essere l’acqua non a pagamento per le docce, l’acqua calda per lavare i piatti e almeno un po di carta igienica. Il bar e il mar jet un po scarso ma molto in ordine e pulito

不喜欢 Il problems sono i grossi massi che ostacolano l'entrata a mare.
Mettere una lunga passerella per facilitare l'ingresso a mare fin dove si evitino scogli e sassi sarebbe una idea buona.

Cefalù (10 minutes’ drive) is well worth some of your time – the resort town has a maze of medieval streets to stroll through, plus a Romanesque cathedral and an interesting ancient washhouse that’s been turned into an art gallery. Energetic types can also climb La Rocca, but there’s also the option of more beach time if you’d rather relax. A little way south (15 minutes’ drive) is Parco delle Madonie, a 35,000-hectare nature reserve that’s got some great hikes and bike rides plus cute villages like Castelbuono (half an hour), Isnello (35 minutes) and Castellana Sicula (50 minutes), all of which are good for a wander and a meal. For a full day out, take yourselves over to Palermo (50 minutes) to visit the Palatine Chapel, the cathedral and the catacombs, and to pick up tasty street food at the various markets.
