Natural surroundings

General

  • Parkland location 7km from the centre of Milan: bus outside the site
  • 3 kilometres from AC Milan's San Siro Stadium
  • Restaurant/pizzeria, sports facilities and petting zoo

Mix it up near Milan with a parkland stay only seven kilometres from the city centre – and on the way there, mull over just how much Milan shopping you'll be able to get your mitts on with all the cash you've saved…

All is possible at Camping Village Città di Milano, a family-friendly site in a peaceful countryside setting but within easy reach of Milan via the bus that stops right outside the site. For days when you're not city sightseeing (and shopping), several parks are in the region; walking, cycling and sailing is available in the Milan South Agricultural Park within ten kilometres, and a big waterpark is just down the road – with discounted entry for site guests. If you're a footie fan, shoot along to A.C. Milan's and Inter Milan's San Siro Stadium a mere three kilometres away.

Città di Milano has plenty of swish stuff on site, such as a petting zoo to wow the kids, a sauna for foot-weary grownups, a playground, and sports areas including a basketball court, volleyball court and table tennis. Bikes and scooters are available for hire.

Foodwise, there's a restaurant/pizzeria, a bar and a mini market, along with barbecue and picnic areas, all in scenic surrounds.

Amenities include a launderette, a washing-up area, a motorhome service point and washrooms with toilets, showers, disabled access and baby bathrooms.

Please note

Your dog must be tattooed or microchipped.

Toilets and showers were cleaned regularly.

    Disliked:

Where to start?! There were loads of gypsy travellers there. Apparently they stay there for 6 months of the year. The cafe, bar and any outside seated areas were unusable as they were totally dominated by the travellers. Playing loud music and drinking all hours of the day and night. Children up all hours playing around other peoples vans. They dirtied the showers and toilets. The whole atmosphere of the site was tainted by them. We were there for 3 nights but would have left after the first night if we could have got a refund. Couldn't wait to leave.
There were no shops, restaurants or anything to do around the site.
I definitely would not recommend this site!

Very convenient location for visiting Milan; Excellent washing facilities - big and clean.

    Disliked:

Very busy and crowded; small pitches; no separate pitches for tents and caravans - all was mixed; electricity points were located just at the bare ends of alleys so actually if you were in the middle of the alley you were unable to connect unless you had 50 meters cable.
Staff was not very helpful and friendly.

    Staff were pleasant.

    Disliked:

Pitches were very open with no privacy.
The “zoo” ( some chickens/pigeons) was completely unnecessary and positively smelled in the evening heat.
The noise from the adjacent water park was not helpful...
we didn’t like that it had been necessary to spray insecticide at night with warnings to campers to keep windows shut etc in suc heat! Happily this had happened a day or so before our arrival. No pool was also disappointing after a along very hot drive.
    Not cheap either.

Good location for transport into Milan. You can buy tickets at the bar. €2 one way. You have to get the bus followed by the metro. Both bus stops are a short walk from camp

    Disliked:

Overgrown pitches, very un kept, lots of weeds and not much grass. Very cramped pitches and no personal space. No nice views, nothing to look at. Showers were not consistent, turning hot then cold and having to repeatedly press a button to keep shower on. We were woken up by someone pitching up at 1am then by the bin men at 7am. Overall a very dingy and grubby camp site, paid €38 for one night, not worth the money.

Local attractions

Camping Village Città di Milano guests can get discounted entry to the Acquatica Park waterpark 200 metres away, or hire bikes on site to check out the cycle paths (and lake) in Boscoincittà park within an easy kilometre. A.C. Milan and Inter Milan's San Siro Stadium is three kilometres away.

The Milan South Agricultural Park 10 kilometres away is a top spot for walking, cycling and sailing, in a scenic setting that's also home to 12th-century Chiaravalle Abbey, where several works of Italian art are housed, including a fresco by Giovan Battista della Rovere and Giovan Mauro.

The many attractions and sights of Milan will need as many days as you can manage: among the city highlights are the Brera, Milan Cathedral, Sforza Castle and the Santa Maria delle Grazie convent, housing da Vinci's The Last Supper. If you have time, also get along to the Villa Necchi Campiglio museum, in an excellent purpose-built house hidden among Milan's busy centre.

For day trips, Pavia and Bergamo are both 50 kilometres away.
