Camping Santa Vittoria’s setting away from the resorts lends itself rather well to days of fresh air and fine views. For seaside days, take the 15-minute drive down to Sestri Levante, where there’s a choice of three fab beaches. Those who’d like to test out their sea legs can board boat trips to Portofino or the UNESCO-listed colourful coastal villages of Cinque Terre; both can also be accessed by road in around 45 minutes. A little further along the coast (around an hour’s drive) is Genoa, where you can take in museums and castles, come eye to eye with sea beasts at the aquarium or simply buy a gelato and stroll through the historic streets.
