Very quiet. Lovely Greek restaurant at the hotel.

Great as a stopover for a couple of nights - not sure if there is that much to do for an extended stay - though could be wrong!

Close to motorway - we were en route from Austria to Amsterdam.

Staff dealt with our problems eventually.

We had a few issues staying here at the time we stayed there was a festival on that we knew nothing about. Upon wanting to use the toilet we couldn't as they let non campers use the showers and toilets at a charge of 3-50 ! Which made me angry. That we had to que for 45 minutes for a shower ! The wifi was awful considering it's a brand new router it was broken so we had to use a near by hotels. The man on reception spoke no English despite it staying on pitch up English was spoken. Generally disappointed with the stay here.

From the manager...

At first, I have to say sorry for the circumstances of your stay and I also would like to say “thank you” for your detailed feedback.
In Kastellaun, we have an annual techno-music open-air-festival – the so called “Nature One”, which is always at the first weekend in August with approx. 65.000 visitors.
This year, we have been flooded by external shower customers as they did not have enough showers at the camping area of the festival. It has been some kind of a “shower-tsunami” which was far too much for our campsite capacity and was also very hard to handle for us.
Not only you but also many other camping guests complained a lot because of that. We are very sorry and we will strictly limit and avoid this in 2017.
We just started with pitchup 2014 and, as good things take a while, we just had a handful of guests via this platform until now. As we had just a couple of customers until now AND it is the ONLY platform where your can do direct bookings at our campsite, we simply forgot to set the availability to “zero” for the first days in August and also did not think of communicating it on this platform.
Concerning “no English spoken” I have to say, that EVERYBODY here speaks English – EXCEPT my uncle, who helped us at the campsite´s reception during the “Nature One” Festival. I hope, that my English as well as the communication of the entire rest of my staff could help you with that.
The WiFi-problem had, as we found out the following days, a simple reason: There were too many users at one time, which was also new for us and which will be improved soon. I led you to the hotel reception, where you got a much better Wifi-quality.
I once again have to say sorry for the inconvenience and I hope, that you will be able to enjoy a pleasant stay at our campsite maybe another day – but NOT during the first days in August. ;-)
Kind regards
Heiko Stemmler, owner
