Liked The pitch was ok

Disliked I arrived just after 12 (official check in time) to find that reception was closed from 12 until 2! I then waited until 3 for someone to arrive after sending an email to let the owners I had arrived so basically I had to wait for 3 hours before I was offered a pitch. Not great

From the manager: Hello, thank you very much for your 1-star rating. Your comments about our hours are a bit unreasonable, but never mind. Sorry for taking a break between noon and 2 PM after working six months without a day off. Soon, the only "campsites" left will be ones run by automated kiosks—and then you can give a 1-star rating because the experience will be completely devoid of any human touch!
You could have simply set up in an available spot while you waited; the campsite itself was open—it was just the reception desk that was closed.
Perhaps one day we’ll be able to rate our customers too, and then you’ll understand things a bit better... All the best!

Liked Quiet location, good sized pitches!

Disliked Reception was due to open at 2pm and nobody turned up until 2.20pm. Us and two other guests were waiting to check in.
Shower block felt quite cold even in August.
Didn’t feel overly safe but okay for just an overnight stop.

Liked Really nice fully serviced pitches with good spaces between pitches. We were only staying overnight so didn't take advantage of anything in the area. Had a lovely pool which was closed due to the time of year

Liked Location next to a lake and park where we could take the dog for a walk. Toilets were clean and showers were spacious albeit a little tired. We arrived a bit early but the gentleman on reception was happy to let us check in and was friendly.

Disliked Not necessarily a dislike but site was fairly small and a bit basic. This is all reflected in the price and rating though. Electric hook up was across multiple pitches, we have a long cable but was a bit awkward when we were unplugging and had to pull the cable across an area where a tent was pitched. Couldn’t get the WiFi to work, said the code wasn’t recognised, we weren’t too bothered so didn’t mention to reception, I’m sure if we had they would have helped.

Local attractions

Want to start by exploring the local countryside? There are plenty of places to get out for a walk or bike ride nearby, either from the site or from local villages, and a couple of equestrian centres just outside Faramans for those who’d like to tour on horseback. More challenging hikes can be found by driving an hour or so east to the Vercors and Chartreuse mountains or travelling a similar distance west to the Pilat Regional Natural Park. Mix in a bit of urban time with a day exploring the museums and historic streets of Lyon (an hour’s drive) or going up to Grenoble (45 minutes) to ride the bubble-style cable car up to the Bastille fortress. On a much smaller scale is the village of Saint-Antoine-l’Abbaye (35 minutes), one of Les Plus Beaux Villages de France for its medieval abbey and half-timbered houses. Family days out are in good supply around here too: try the waterslides at Aqualib’ (10 minutes), the treetop trails and ziplines at Parc Oasis Aventura (20 minutes), the wildlife trails at Safari de Peaugres (45 minutes) or the rides at Walibi Rhône-Alpes (50 minutes). It’s also really worth making a trip to Palais Idéal du Facteur Cheval (25 minutes), an extraordinary building constructed by one man over 33 years, mainly using stones picked up on his post round.
