Boat trips from talloires village across lake annecy

  • Peaceful family site on Lake Annecy, surrounded by mountains
  • Windsurfing, paragliding, hang gliding and canyoning all nearby
  • Direct access to a public beach with waterski, kayak and pedalo rental
Ooh la la, the lakeside setting of Camping Le Lanfonnet is most magnifique. And this is not just any old lake – non, Lake Annecy is a veritable gem. The third largest in France, its clear waters are fed in by mountain streams to make up one of Europe’s cleanest lakes. Clearly, one must allow plenty of time for watery and waterside hours and hours, but there’s loads more to fill your days around here. A beach is a couple of minutes’ amble away from the site and two more lie within a 20-minute walk, for sunbathing days, canoeing, paddleboarding, scuba diving and heaps more. The site is well set up for activities too, with table tennis, table football, pétanque and a playground, as well as a TV room to retreat to for indoor times, and a bar-restaurant to fully investigate for local grub. Pick up essentials at the site grocery store in summer; at other times and for more shops, take a 20-minute stroll along the lakeside path to reach local village Talloires. A miniature golf course and tennis courts are up here too, and it’s the starting point for some great hiking and bike trails up into the hills. Restaurants and cafés are in the village and all along the lake shore for essential coffee and croissant pitstops or for a glass of vin with a view.

What customers say

This campsite boasts a superb lakeside location with direct access and is ideal for cycling and water sports. Pitches are generally spacious and offer good shade. Staff are frequently described as friendly and helpful. However, a recurring theme is the dated state of the toilet and shower facilities, with some guests finding them unclean, lacking hot water, or poorly lit. Wi-Fi is generally limited to reception areas.

Electric optional grass pitch

Liked Large sunny pitch very close to the lake. The people are very friendly and only want to help make your stay as good as possible. We nearly never booked this after reading previous negative reviews but we honestly couldn't fault it. We will definitely return.

Disliked OK so the showers could run a little cool occasionally but we actually welcomed these after a day on the lake.

From the manager: Hello,

We have taken note of your feedback. It appears you did not turn on the light switch on the side of the men's shower area, resulting in insufficient lighting. We have since adjusted the shower temperatures. It is a pity you did not come directly to reception to discuss this with us. Best regards.

Liked La localización es muy buena, el lago es precioso. Las parcelas están bien.

Disliked Los baños necesitan una reforma urgente. La propietaria es bastante seca e intentó cobrarnos de nuevo lo que ya estaba pagado.

From the manager: Hola:

Gracias por sus comentarios. Nuestro objetivo es ofrecer una experiencia de acampada sencilla; aunque nuestras instalaciones sanitarias quizás no sean modernas, son funcionales y están bien mantenidas. Todos los pagos quedan registrados en una factura clara que verificamos posteriormente, por lo que es imposible que se produzca un cobro duplicado. Aceptamos reservas tanto directamente como a través de plataformas asociadas, motivo por el cual tuvimos que confirmar si se había realizado el pago o no.
Gracias,
El equipo de Lanfonnet

Local attractions

Several hiking and cycling trails around the lake start from Talloires village – a popular route from here is the hour-long walk up to the Cascade d’Angon waterfall. To get to other walks in the area, such as those in the Bout du Lac natural reserve, take the car (20 minutes to the nature reserve) or pick up the bus or boat services running all around the lake. On the hillside above the village is the medieval Château de Menthon-Saint-Bernard, where you can take a guided tour of some of its 100 rooms; pick from a traditional guided tour or one run by costumed actors to help fire up the kids’ imaginations. It’ll take you 15 minutes or so to drive up there or just over an hour to hike up. Watersports galore make the most of the gorgeous lake waters – just next to the site are waterskiing, wakeboarding and windsurfing lessons and canoes and sailing boats for hire, and up in Talloires are a paddleboarding school and a scuba diving centre. If you’d like to combine your watery pursuits and mountain exploration, sign up for a canyoning trip from the adventure sports centre a couple of minutes’ walk from the site. Adrenaline junkies with an eye for a great view can fly over the lake on a paragliding flight from just outside Talloires; meanwhile, those of a gentler persuasion might prefer a round of golf at Lake Annecy Golf Course, 10 minutes away. The handsome old town of Annecy is half an hour's drive away.
