Boat trips from talloires village across lake annecy

  • Peaceful family site on Lake Annecy, surrounded by mountains
  • Windsurfing, paragliding, hang gliding and canyoning all nearby
  • Direct access to a public beach with waterski, kayak and pedalo rental
Ooh la la, the lakeside setting of Camping Le Lanfonnet is most magnifique. And this is not just any old lake – non, Lake Annecy is a veritable gem. The third largest in France, its clear waters are fed in by mountain streams to make up one of Europe’s cleanest lakes. Clearly, one must allow plenty of time for watery and waterside hours and hours, but there’s loads more to fill your days around here. A beach is a couple of minutes’ amble away from the site and two more lie within a 20-minute walk, for sunbathing days, canoeing, paddleboarding, scuba diving and heaps more. The site is well set up for activities too, with table tennis, table football, pétanque and a playground, as well as a TV room to retreat to for indoor times, and a bar-restaurant to fully investigate for local grub. Pick up essentials at the site grocery store in summer; at other times and for more shops, take a 20-minute stroll along the lakeside path to reach local village Talloires. A miniature golf course and tennis courts are up here too, and it’s the starting point for some great hiking and bike trails up into the hills. Restaurants and cafés are in the village and all along the lake shore for essential coffee and croissant pitstops or for a glass of vin with a view.

What customers say

This campsite's superb lakeside location and friendly, helpful staff are consistently praised. Guests appreciate the direct access to Lake Annecy, cycle paths, and nearby amenities. While the natural setting is beautiful and pitches are generally spacious and offer shade, the facilities, particularly the shower and toilet blocks, are frequently described as dated, basic, and in need of modernisation, with intermittent hot water and occasional cleanliness issues reported. Electrical supply can also be unreliable. Despite these drawbacks, many guests found the location and atmosphere highly enjoyable and would recommend or return.

Liked The location of this campsite is superb. The staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant across the road served lovely food at great prices with lovely colourful staff. Access to the lake was great and just a short walk to Tallores which has excellent swimming facilities. There is a bus stop across the road to the right of the campsite where you can catch the number 20 bus to Annecy train station where you can walk around little Venice which is beautiful.
This is a lovely campsite and we would recommend and would certainly return.

Disliked The showers and toilet areas. I have no issue with the decor, just that there were cobwebs that were clearly very old in them that a simple feather duster could remedy. Also they are very dark even during the day. A bit more light and a feather duster would fix this.

Liked Lovely campsite with exceptional staff, they couldn’t do enough to help us during our stay. Brilliant for casual cycling and a five minute walk to lake Annecy and all the activities you can find there. Just be careful when arriving and go in the left hand entrance! We took the right and with a caravan it was very tight, our mistake!!!

From the manager: Hello,

Thank you very much for your message; we are delighted to hear that you fully enjoyed your stay. Regarding the roadside location—which applies to all the campsites in the area, including ours—we are served by a local road as well as a cycle path at the entrance, so it is best to take your time.

Thanks again, and we look forward to seeing you again sometime.

Local attractions

Several hiking and cycling trails around the lake start from Talloires village – a popular route from here is the hour-long walk up to the Cascade d’Angon waterfall. To get to other walks in the area, such as those in the Bout du Lac natural reserve, take the car (20 minutes to the nature reserve) or pick up the bus or boat services running all around the lake. On the hillside above the village is the medieval Château de Menthon-Saint-Bernard, where you can take a guided tour of some of its 100 rooms; pick from a traditional guided tour or one run by costumed actors to help fire up the kids’ imaginations. It’ll take you 15 minutes or so to drive up there or just over an hour to hike up. Watersports galore make the most of the gorgeous lake waters – just next to the site are waterskiing, wakeboarding and windsurfing lessons and canoes and sailing boats for hire, and up in Talloires are a paddleboarding school and a scuba diving centre. If you’d like to combine your watery pursuits and mountain exploration, sign up for a canyoning trip from the adventure sports centre a couple of minutes’ walk from the site. Adrenaline junkies with an eye for a great view can fly over the lake on a paragliding flight from just outside Talloires; meanwhile, those of a gentler persuasion might prefer a round of golf at Lake Annecy Golf Course, 10 minutes away. The handsome old town of Annecy is half an hour's drive away.
