Boat trips from Talloires village across Lake Annecy

  • Peaceful family site on Lake Annecy, surrounded by mountains
  • Windsurfing, paragliding, hang gliding and canyoning all nearby
  • Direct access to a public beach with waterski, kayak and pedalo rental
Ooh la la, the lakeside setting of Camping Le Lanfonnet is most magnifique. And this is not just any old lake – non, Lake Annecy is a veritable gem. The third largest in France, its clear waters are fed in by mountain streams to make up one of Europe’s cleanest lakes. Clearly, one must allow plenty of time for watery and waterside hours and hours, but there’s loads more to fill your days around here. A beach is a couple of minutes’ amble away from the site and two more lie within a 20-minute walk, for sunbathing days, canoeing, paddleboarding, scuba diving and heaps more. The site is well set up for activities too, with table tennis, table football, pétanque and a playground, as well as a TV room to retreat to for indoor times, and a bar-restaurant to fully investigate for local grub. Pick up essentials at the site grocery store in summer; at other times and for more shops, take a 20-minute stroll along the lakeside path to reach local village Talloires. A miniature golf course and tennis courts are up here too, and it’s the starting point for some great hiking and bike trails up into the hills. Restaurants and cafés are in the village and all along the lake shore for essential coffee and croissant pitstops or for a glass of vin with a view.

What customers say

This campsite boasts a superb location right by Lake Annecy, with many pitches offering direct lake access and shade. Guests praise the friendly and helpful staff, as well as the beautiful surroundings, ideal for cycling and walking. Facilities are generally described as basic and dated, with some reports of inconsistent hot water and cleanliness issues. However, the excellent location often outweighs these drawbacks for visitors.

Electric optional grass pitch

Liked A very lovely relaxed campsite with pleasant owners. We had a pitch in full sun which was great for our solar panel but there were loads of shady pitches available. A short walk to a beautiful lakeside lawn with a jetty to swim from. The campsite has a lovely relaxed ambience and has lots of trees. There’s a little shop and cafe. The wifi at the cafe is super super fast and we could download new Netflix shows in seconds! Thank you to the nice young man who showed us round and spoke excellent English.

Disliked No matter what time we used the showers they were absolutely stone cold! Refreshing but would have preferred a warm shower. This is the only reason I didn’t rate 10/10

Electric optional grass pitch

Liked We arrived in a VW T5, without a reservation, staff were welcoming and helpful. Our pitch was shaded by trees and moderate in size. Easy access to the lake which was just a few minutes walk , fabulous.

Disliked The sanitary block is showing its age, but it’s clean. There is a mix of sit down & squat toilets. If you travelled in Europe in the 90s it’s pretty much what you would have found then.

Electric optional grass pitch

Liked Beautifully authentic site in a fabulous location of the lake. The staff are friendly and helpful. The entrance & exit is quite tight for larger motorhomes, but it accessible.
Close to bars & restaurants & beaches.
Shower facilities old & cold, but if you use your motorhome it’s a good base for a few days at Lake Annecy.

Liked Absolutely lovely location 2 minutes from our pitch to shore of the beautiful lake. Ten minutes cycle to the picturesque village port.

Disliked Very little to dislike large pitches.
The toilets and showers are a bit dated but perfectly clean and usable.

Local attractions

Several hiking and cycling trails around the lake start from Talloires village – a popular route from here is the hour-long walk up to the Cascade d’Angon waterfall. To get to other walks in the area, such as those in the Bout du Lac natural reserve, take the car (20 minutes to the nature reserve) or pick up the bus or boat services running all around the lake. On the hillside above the village is the medieval Château de Menthon-Saint-Bernard, where you can take a guided tour of some of its 100 rooms; pick from a traditional guided tour or one run by costumed actors to help fire up the kids’ imaginations. It’ll take you 15 minutes or so to drive up there or just over an hour to hike up. Watersports galore make the most of the gorgeous lake waters – just next to the site are waterskiing, wakeboarding and windsurfing lessons and canoes and sailing boats for hire, and up in Talloires are a paddleboarding school and a scuba diving centre. If you’d like to combine your watery pursuits and mountain exploration, sign up for a canyoning trip from the adventure sports centre a couple of minutes’ walk from the site. Adrenaline junkies with an eye for a great view can fly over the lake on a paragliding flight from just outside Talloires; meanwhile, those of a gentler persuasion might prefer a round of golf at Lake Annecy Golf Course, 10 minutes away. The handsome old town of Annecy is half an hour's drive away.
