  • Small, peaceful site in the Vienne countryside near Romagne
  • A five-minute drive to La Vallée Des Singes and 45 minutes to Poitiers
  • Order breakfast and evening meals on site
Life moves at a slower pace in the country lanes and market villages of Vienne… simply, very little seems urgent anymore when you’re ambling past fields of yellow sunflowers or trickling streams. Try it out for yourself at Le Jardin de Rose, a friendly, peaceful site in the serene Vienne countryside. This is a place where you can relax with a good book, tuck into a peaceful picnic or simply sit and contemplate the countryside. This dog-friendly site is a kilometre from the village of Romagne, 10 minutes’ drive from the market town of Château-Garnier and 45 minutes from the Romanesque city scenes of Poitiers. For a fab way to explore the French countryside, you can book breakfast to eat on site, then take a countryside stroll to scope out the local delicacies in the village markets, or drop in at one of several restaurants within a 10-minute drive. For a snack on the go, hire a bike – you might get lucky and nab one with a traditional basket – and pedal your way along country lanes, picking up a baguette fresh out of the bakery ovens for lunch, and return just in time for dinner, which can be booked and delivered direct to your tent. Within a five-minute drive of the cheeky monkeys at La Vallée Des Singes and a 45-minute drive from Futuroscope, this a site for the whole family, with kayaking, canoeing, and fishing nearby too.

Electric optional grass and gravel pitch

Liked Lovely quiet site but camper facilities need to be updated. Only one very small shower/WC room. Would benefit from separate WC as if another camper was showering no other WC facilities available. Accessible shower would be an asset. Not enough facilities for number of pitches.
Access roads very narrow.

From the manager: Thank you for your comments, we have the minimum amount of facilities required for our small rural campsite.
So we are within the regulations,we are aware that you did not have to wait to use the shower /toilet as there was only yourselves &one other.
There is another toilet available inside the property if needed.
Regarding the roads to us (welcome to rural france) sat nav directions I cannot control but this is a farming community where large farm vehicles negotiate the local roads with no problem..

Regards
Le jardin de rose.

Disliked La douche et le wc dans le même lieu.

Electric optional grass and gravel pitch

Liked Le Jardin de Rose is very pretty and in a lovely part of rural France. we both enjoyed our stay immensely (despite the wet weather) and slept so well.
We opted for a continental breakfast in the house the next morning- wow it was amazing. Everything you could want and more.
thank you so much Min & Barry

Electric optional grass and gravel pitch

Liked Peaceful, pretty garden. Generous pitch sizes. Clean toilet shower (with a toilet seat and loo paper - a rarity in France!)

Disliked Minor, but just one loo and shower, accessed via single locking door. Might be a bit tight if campsite full, although it is pretty small. Nearest food shop a drive away. No restaurants within 10 miles or so on a Sunday.

From the manager: Lovely to meet you and thank you for staying with us here
We do have a small local produce shop in the village along with the Pizza chalet which is a 12 min walk in the village,
(Pizza can be ordered we’d, Fri, Sat, sun,)and the new bakery is set to reopen very soon after the renovations .
Once again thank you for staying here at campinglejardin.fr
Regards Min.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked I had possibly one of the best nights sleep staying here, it is beyond serene and tranquil for the height of summer/holidays. The shower/toilet was what I would expect from a hotel, not a campsite. Access to a pool however I arrived to late to take advantage of it. Gravel entrance meant i couldn't stop at reception so I trundle through to the pitches and the gentleman owner came out to greet me and made sure all was well.

Disliked Loud chickens in the morning but that's hardly a complaint for such a rural and beautiful camp ground.

From the manager: So nice to meet you, we thank you for staying here at our little camping site,
Yes the local farmer has a few chickens, the roosters keep good time and no need for an alarm clock in rural france !
Regards min and Barry

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked Loved it.
Lovely people.

Disliked Would not stay again until more facilities. Toilets and showers.
There were 11 people staying and one toilet and shower.
Not enough.

From the manager: Thank you for your comments as we explained the campsite has only been open for a short while &toilet/shower block will be added when funds are available.
Ps:the albizia tree is surviving its trauma.

Electric optional grass and gravel pitch

Liked Good sized pitch close to the amenities. The toilets / showers were immaculate. The owner Mark was very welcoming & provided an electric hook up extension. The location is very quiet but the town is a 10 minute drive. We will definitely return if we are in the area & would highly recommend.

Electric optional grass and gravel pitch

Liked Was soll ich da schreiben.

Disliked Nichts.

From the manager: Thank Thorsten for your nice comments we are happy that you enjoyed your stay with us.
It was great to meet you both and spend some time with you enjoying a drink or two [keeping to the deadline of course].

We hope to meet up again sometime in the future meanwhile take care.

Auf wiedersechen.

Local attractions

Learn to tell apart a tamarind monkey from a chimpanzee at the monkey park La Vallée Des Singes (five minutes’ drive) or hold your breath for the nerve-tingling rides Futuroscope theme park (45 minutes). For beasts with a bigger snap, check out the crocodiles at La Planète des Crocodiles (40 minutes). After all the adrenalin-pumping, don't be afraid to get mucky too. This is the Vienne countryside after all, and days of canoeing, kayaking, and fishing are all within a 35-minute drive. There’s a golf course (15 minutes), for those who want to practise their hole-in-one, and when you want to swap the bicycle wheels for a tough pair of hooves, there's horse riding at Lemaire Jean (five minutes). To throw a bit of history into the mix, wander among the half-timbered houses and Romanesque churches of Poitiers (45 minutes) or check out the cathedral, museum and Upper Town in Angoulême (an hour).
