This adult only campsite is nestled in 8 acres of beautiful Charente countryside, just on the outskirts of the village of St-Laurent-de-Ceris. Also we are only an hours drive from the neighbouring departments of Dordogne and Limousin.

Confolens and the Fesitival de Folklore.
Confolens is the home of the Festival de Folklore, one of France's largest and best known folklore festivals, which takes place annually in August and had over 100,000 visitors last year.
Confolens was built around a fortress first mentioned in the eleventh century. It still has picturesque remnants of its medieval past, including city walls and several houses dating from the fifteenth to the eighteenth centuries. It also features a bridge first mentioned in the fourteenth century.
Château de la Rochefoucauld.
Towering above the town of La Rochefoucauld by the River Rardoire in the Charente, the Château de la Rochefoucauld is an impressive castle, with its original 11th century square keep flanked by Renaissance towers.
It is still the residence of the La Rochefoucauld family, one of the oldest noble families in France, and has been in almost continuous ownership since it was first built.
Parts of the château are open to the public - there is no garden - and highlights include the beautiful 16th century staircase, highly ornate Renaissance detailing in the ceiling and windows, and the courtyard with its Italianate archways.
Château de la Rochechouart
The oldest part of the Chateau Rochechouart, built by the viscounts of Rochechouart, including the gatehouse and the keep going back to the late twelfth century. For the most part, the building is a testament to the turn of the architecture between the Middle Ages and the Renaissance .Defensive element in an area marked for nearly three centuries by the conflict between France and England, the castle is indeed of the fifteenth century decorative elements (twisted columns, bas-reliefs) showing its new use. During the French Revolution, the castle was plundered, its furniture and dispersed archives. The department of Haute-Vienne in 1836 bought the castle of Rochechouart family. The building has since been the subject of several campaigns of restoration and rehabilitation.
