Camp Laurent

Μου άρεσε Absolutely loved this site. So peaceful and relaxing. Facilities are fantastic can not fault them. Wish they owned more sites in France because they have it so right. The toilets and showers perfect no missing toilet seats here, plenty of soap to wash hands and no silly buttons to press for a shower or time limit on the shower. If we ever go back to the Charente region again this will be our no 1 choice every time! In fact I’m trying to convince my husband that we don’t have to explore anymore of France because we have found the best place here. Thankyou Tracey for all your help and kind advice.

Δεν μου άρεσε Nothing. But husband would say he wished it wasn’t an hour cycle ride to major town Confelon or he wishes I’d buy him an electric bike, but the site can even put that right for him.

Μου άρεσε Tracey and Pete were really welcoming and made our stay superb. Tracey was always available if ever we needed advice or assistance. Tracey even booked an appointment for us with a local vet to get the tapeworm treatment our dog needed to travel back to the UK. The site was huge, with plenty of room for everybody and the river was a blessing for the dog on super hot days. Note, if you are coming from the UK, it's a long drive down, breaking the journey in two is highly recommended. If you fancy a treat, the Le Mans Country Club is dog friendly and a standard room is only 150 euros per night - food and wine are a little on the pricey side but if you cannot treat yourself once in a while...

Μου άρεσε Second visit to this lovely relaxing, spacious campsite, great pool for a cooling dip, sunny/shady areas to pitch on. Appreciate its adult only. Friendly owners. Handy washing machine and fridges to hire. Lovely restaurant and Boulangerie in village a few minutes drive away.

Μου άρεσε Zeer vriendelijke en behulpzame uitbaters. Er zijn grote ruime plaatsen op de camping. Zeer rustig en mooi gelegen. Er is ook een zwembad voor wat verkoeling.

Δεν μου άρεσε Het nabijgelegen dorpje is op ongeveer 5 km. Er valt weinig te beleven. Je kan beter een beetje verder rijden met de auto voor iets te bezichtigen of om naar de winkel te gaan.

Μου άρεσε We loved how welcomed we were on arrival at the site. Tracy (and Stella, the dog) took the time to walk us around the facilities and answer our initial questions. The pitched were large and although the site was full, it was very quiet and peaceful, particularly as it was an adult only site. There was a good information hub about the local area, including cycle paths. The facilities, including the outdoor pool and toilets were spotlessly clean and well stocked. We loved the honesty box for ice creams- a lovely touch in the heat of the day.

Μου άρεσε A very peaceful site in the countryside, lovely welcoming owners. Great choice of areas to pitch, open or near a variety of trees. Easy to use male or female bathroom + 1 more. This site has a very relaxing feel, inviting pool with hammocks and hanging loungers. Nearby village has a great restaurant open thur - Mon and a boulangerie. Super stay and will definitely return.

Μου άρεσε Peaceful place, very clean and owner very helpful with making a vet appointment for my dog to travel back to the UK. The local vets were actually fantastic too.

Μου άρεσε Camp Laurent - An absolute Slice of Wilderness Without the Roughing It.
Camp Laurent is not your average campsite. It's a sanctuary, a secret garden for grown-ups. A place where the gentle hum of nature replaces the cacophony of kids, and where the only disturbance to your tranquillity is the distant cluck of a contented hen.
Imagine a sprawling meadow, dotted with a mere ten pitches. No sardine-like squabbles for a spot, just ample elbow room and a sense of blissful isolation. It's as if you've stumbled upon a private camping utopia. And the facilities? The showers are hot, the toilets are spotless, and the swimming pool is an oasis of cool, clear refreshment. It's the kind of place where you can actually have a leisurely float on an adult-sized inflatable rubber ring (provided for you) without fear of tiny terrors diving in trying to capsize the thing 😜.

Tracy, Steve, and their adorable sidekick, Stella the French Bulldog, are the perfect hosts. Their warm welcome is like a hug from an old friend. We were even treated to a VIP tour of their farmyard, complete with day old baby ducklings and a mother goose with a protective attitude. The river that meanders through the meadow is a hidden gem. It's a world away from the urban grind, a place to spot frolicking frogs, elusive coypu, and the most beautiful dragonflies that are just hanging out down by the water. Hours slipped by as we watched the world go by, a sense of peace washing over us.
Leaving Camp Laurent was like tearing ourselves away from a beloved comfort blanket. It's a place that whispers relaxation, where time slows down and worries evaporate. If you're seeking a camping experience that's as far removed from the crazy crowds as possible, without sacrificing comfort or charm, then Camp Laurent is your Shangri-La. Trust us, your inner child (the grown-up version) will thank you.
