What customers say

This campsite is highly praised for its tranquil atmosphere, with many visitors highlighting the friendly and helpful owners. Guests consistently report exceptionally clean facilities, including toilets and showers. Pitches are described as private, spacious, and well-maintained, often bordered by hedges. The location is considered excellent for walking and cycling, with boat hire available nearby. A small on-site cafe/bar offering fresh crepes and galettes is also a popular feature. While overwhelmingly positive, a minor point mentioned is the accessibility of rubbish bins in wet weather.

Electric optional grass pitch

Liked A lovely little site with excellent facilities, in fact the best we experienced whilst travelling in France. Free WiFi, free water, good set up for facilitating motorhome/van use such as waste water disposal and chemical toilet, a nice little on site shop supplying the basics and an evening bar/galette cafe. The toilet and washing building was excellent and the only place where there was no time limit on the shower tap! Also a small playground for children. Lovely hosts who made you feel at home. Very quiet and in the heart of nature. Bikes and canoes can also be hired nearby. Most definitely a recommended place to stay.

Disliked Nothing apart from the occasional noise of powered parachute machines in the sky.

Liked This is our second time here. We stopped for 2 nights last summer and came back for 5 this year. It is a beautiful campsite in a lovely location. Pitches are spacious and wash block was extremely clean. The owners were incredibly friendly and helpful. We will certainly be back.

Local attractions

With 112,000 hectares of canals and nature to explore, the surrounding Marais Poitevin regional natural park is a great place for boating, canoeing, kayaking or stand up paddleboarding. Fishing, cycling, walking and other leisure activities to help you feel at one with nature are also readily available in the immediate vicinity – for recommendations, head to the nearest tourist office in the pretty riverside town of Coulon (15 minutes' drive), which is also a good place to start boat trips. Elsewhere, the pretty ruins of the Abbaye Saint-Pierre de Maillezais (15 minutes) is worth a visit for anyone interested in the local area's Catholic and Huguenot heritage. For more inspiring buildings, you’d do well to check out the Renaissance château at Coulonges-sur-l'Autize too (25 minutes). If you don't mind a longer drive, it's well worth driving down to the beaches of La Rochelle or Noirmoutier island, both of which can be reached in just under an hour. If you're travelling with kids and want to keep them on their best behaviour, the prospect of a trip to the fab rides and live action shows at the Puy du Fou theme park (an hour and 15 minutes) is likely to do the trick.
