After a stay in Sarthe’s Normandie-Maine regional park, on the edge of a swimming and fishing lake, and at the crossroads of hiking, biking and horse-riding paths? If this has you nodding your head excitably, make your way to Camping de la Forêt. Whether your plans are to potter around the Pays de la Loire with family or friends, this site a five-minute drive from the village of Sillé-le-Guillaume is grand for recharging your batteries while surrounded by nature. Alternatively, rev things up a touch with the range of outdoor activities organised in the local area, from rock and tree climbing to mountain biking and kayaking. Less keen on sports and more into scouting out some scenic spots? Go further north into the Alpes Mancelles region to wander the wooded hills and valleys hereabouts. Trekking trails start right from the park too – simply ask staff for info on recommended routes. If all this is sounding a tad too tiring, stay on site and chill out with leisurely games of pétanque, table tennis and table football, then move indoors and browse for a book in the library or turn on the telly in the TV room and flick through the channels. Feeling sluggish? Shake things up with games on the volleyball and badminton courts; energetic enfants have a playground to whizz around and entertainment for the whole family is organised in the warmer months.

Liked Mooie camping in het bos. Groot meer om te zwemmen en vissen.

Disliked De ondergrond is van dennentakken wat zorgt voor veel rotzooi. Bbq is niet toegestaan vanwege de droogte. Onze overbuurvrouw zat in een tent een sigaret te roken. Over brandveiligheid gesproken.
We zijn na 1 nacht vertrokken. Stonden met de camper aan de rand van de camping aan de drukke weg door het bos. We hadden voor 2 dagen gereserveerd….
Sanitair is erg verouderd en een poetsbeurt om de spinnenwebben te verwijderen doet wonderen.

Liked Excellent campsite with great staff and facilities. Very quiet. Next to a beautiful lake with boat hire and restaurants. Only minus was that there was no soap in ladies‘ toilet. Plenty in the men‘s apparently. Because not used as much. :) we played with two tame chicken and would have liked to have washed our hands afterwards.

Disliked Only the lack of soap.

Liked The setting near the lake, good sized pitches but the grass needed cutting and hedges were overgrown

Disliked The camp was overgrown and needed quite a bit of maintenance. There was one shower/ toilet block open but it needed some maintenance too.
