Quiet lakeside location for the peaceful vibes or handy town setting for the convenience of being able to walk to a shop? No need to choose when you’re staying at Camping Ardresien – this Nord-Pas-de-Calais site is in a particularly choice position in the town of Ardres, about five minutes’ walk from the town centre, which hosts summer night markets. In the other direction, it's just a three-minute walk from Lac d’Ardres (along a direct path), a popular spot for pedal boating, renting small boats, slurping on an ice cream or watching the annual July fireworks. This family-run site is a friendly and laidback site where pets and kids are welcome and pitches are quiet and well kept. A play area and pétanque court are on site, along with picnic tables where you can serve up your meals (cooked on a barbecue if you’d like to bring one along). The highlight for many people, though, is the private fishing pond, available for guests to use during their stay. The edge-of-town location is a very handy one that puts you just a few minutes’ walk from a good variety of shops and places to eat, along with other amenities like banks and a post office. Being about 20 minutes’ drive from Calais is another bonus on the location front too, as it puts cross-channel travellers within easy reach of the ferry port (and makes this site a good choice for a first or last night). The nearby coast isn’t all about ferries, of course – you’ll also be able to get to a nice sandy beach or a coastal nature reserve. Turning the other way, there are lots of walks and other outdoor activities in the Caps et Marais d’Opales Regional Natural Park.

Liked Hedged pitch was a good size and had its own water, electricity and grey water disposal. Friendly owner, near to the town and lovely lakes. A short drive to Calais.

Disliked The toilets and showers are a bit lacking although very clean.

Liked Such a great welcome from the owner and his lovely mother.

Campsite tucked away but near enough to stroll to the small town with a few bars and restaurants. An added bonus is the beautiful lake with a lovely bar and restaurant) which again is within a short walk.

The gravel pitches are a good size and well demarcated by mature hedges. Toilet facilities were immaculately clean.

Carrefore supermarket with self service fuel station approximately 5 minutes drive away.

A very quiet, relaxing site and we’ll definitely be back.

Liked Compliment the owner as arrived late but he still arrived on site to greet us.
Lovely site, well presented with wide gravel pitch, lovely hot shower, set in town, pizza shop, pub, patisserie all within 5 minutes, lovely owner.

Liked The campsite was great very clean not far from the tunnel so for a first or last stopover it’s ideal. The owner was so helpful he even lent us an adapter for our electric. The campsite is not far to walk from the town and local bars pizza place and another bar overlooking a lake.
This was our first visit and it definitely won’t be the last it’s definitely worth a visit

Disliked I can honestly say there’s nothing that could of been better for our stay others may have different opinions
