General

  • Family-friendly site
  • Plenty of activities during the summer
  • Great for active holidays in the outdoors

We're reasonably certain that a site at the centre of the three magnifique regions of Jura, Vosges and Alsace will have quite a lot to do around it in the manner of outdoor options. And so c'est vrai, for Camping du Bois de Reveuge in the Doubs department's Huanne-Montmartin commune has a wide variety of outdoor activities in the area, and a lake nearby where guests can go canoeing, boating, swimming and fishing.

There's quite a lot to do on site too, such as a waterpark with slides, indoor and outdoor pools and a paddling pool, a fitness room, a play area and a games room with gogglebox. The team also lays on daytime activities like tennis, archery, rifle shooting and a kids' club, while evening entertainment is organised during the summer.

Camping du Bois de Reveuge also has a restaurant, a food shop and an amenities block with hot showers.

Liked the lake , the zip wire.
    Shady pitches .

    Disliked:

Way too busy for us . Very squashed together .. Pool chaotic ; no lifeguard , teenagers dive bombing with young children so close .
Absolutely fine if you like chaos , noise and disorder but too noisy for us . Shop is very loosely termed . It's 3 shelves at back of snack bar with basics like firefighters and stale bread and wine ... Luckily were only here one night en route to next stop . If I was here 2 weeks id go mad !!

Upon arrival we were told to pick a pitch. The site is huge and we did find a nice gravel pitch directly overlooking the lake. The surrounding area did look good for cycling and walking but no towns or villages are within walking distance. We stayed for two night out of season so I cannot comment on the various activities on offer as non of them were running. The toilet block was warm and clean. You could get WiFi but you had too pay for it.

    Disliked:

most of the pitches were grass and totally waterlogged.
There are a lot of chalet homes on the site that look very old and in dire need of updating. The campsite looks like it needs a lot of maintenance to keep it running and any cosmetic maintenance is left out. The campsite is quite isolated. It rained almost constantly during the time we were there and there was absolutely nothing to do on the site. This site may be totally different in high season but in June it was a disappointment

Local attractions

Get into the outdoors in the Doubs department and the several hiking trails, caves, castles in the area around Camping du Bois de Reveuge and in the spectacularly scenic Doubs river valley.

Also within easy access, Parc Dino-Zoo near Charbonnières-les-Sapins is a dinosaur-themed park smashingly set up for younger holidaymakers.

The regional capital Besançon is worth at least a day, to see its UNESCO World Heritage Site citadel and its Old Town, alongside its Fine Arts museum with its exhibits of archaeology and mosaics. Also in town, soak up the sun with a picnic at Parc Micaud.
