If you’re looking to taste fine wines or discover the religious architecture of the Saône-et-Loire region, haste ye to Camping Les Voiles sur Grosne. In the rural hamlet of Messeugne and crossed by the Grosne River, this site is a peaceful haven that's also 50 minutes’ drive from the start of the Route des Grands Crus of Burgundy in Santenay, and 20 minutes from the Romanesque Abbey of Cluny. So what’s available at this low-key, leafy and family-friendly Burgundy site? There’s a playground to keep active youngsters busy, and you can challenge family or new-found friends to hard-fought battles on the pétanque or volleyball courts. Pack up a picnic to eat on the river banks, go fishing, snooze in the sun, cycle along the nearby greenway, cool off with a dip in the water… The choice is yours. In high season, a whole roster of events and themed evenings kick off in the bistro – where major sporting events are also televised – which opens early for breakfast (as well as a takeaway bread service; order the night before). It stays open all day for sharing plates of regional cheeses and cured meats, as well as woodfired pizzas with all sorts of tasty toppings. If you’d rather keep catering matters to yourselves, pick up barbecue provisions (and a decent bottle of Burgundy) from the delis in Saint-Gengoux-le-National or Cormatin, both less than 10 minutes’ drive.

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked E' stato un soggiorno davvero piacevole. Camping immerso nella natura,ben organizzato, piazzole spaziose, bagni puliti. Si trova proprio sulle rive di un fiume e ci siamo goduti il relax di un Pic nic dopo ore di viaggio, rientrando dalla Valle della Loira. Inoltre i dintorni sono belli e visitando la vicina Cluny siamo rimasti piacevolmente sorpresi (città ricca di storia e molto vivace, piena di locali e iniziative culturali e musicali, con festival jazz ad agosto). Grazie, alla prossima!

Liked Lovely open site, relaxed attitude of staff, attractive open air restaurant, good food, charming staff.

Disliked Tricky to book in after long journey - not obvious where reception is. Long track down side of campsite quite away from reception.
