Domaine du Pont de la Dordogne is located 840m above sea level, overlooking the mountains of Sancy in Auvergne. The campsite is right at the heart of the Auvergne region, a land of lakes and volcanos benefiting from an exceptional geographic location 4km from la Bourboule, 10km from the Mont Dore, 5km from the motorway A89 and 35km from Vulcania ; everything to give guests the best leisure opportunities related to nature and relaxation. The property is a true ode to nature as it's surrounded by old trees such as maples, birches and oaks and the campsite is on the edge of the river Dordogne and is even crossed by a tributary stream of the Dordogne river called Liournat. Additionally, the campsite has a fishing pond which can be accessed via a set of wooden pontoons. For great moments of relaxation within the campsite, you have access to a wellness area with its indoor and outdoor jacuzzis, a sauna, spa, sophrology and well-being seminars. The equipment includes an ELIVIA multi-sensory cabin and you can assist to well-being and fitness programs. Le Domaine du Pont de la Dordogne is located near Vulcania educational amusement park and museum with a fascinating volcano theme. The Campsite is located 4km from the nineteenth-century spa town of La Bourboule. La Bourboule is also a winter ski resort and the Dordogne river runs through the centre of the town before falling within the Natural Regional Park des Volcans. Strolling through La Bourboule you could almost feel like you travel back in time,100 years ago with the thermal baths and the grand houses dating from the belle epoque - the time of prosperity between the end of the nineteenth-century and the start of the First World War. Numerous hiking and cycling trails are available starting right from Domaine du Pont de la Dordogne. A qualified mountain guide can go with you and guide you through your walks and cycling sessions. Activities such as paragliding, nordic walking and hot air balloon flights are offered in the Mont Doré but also in the surrounding areas.
