Electric grass pitch

Liked Wonderful setting and a lot of well spaced out pitches. The owner was extremely helpful and couldn’t do enough for you. The bar restaurant was opened for us and we had a lovely evening by the camp fire. Great dog walks through the forest.

Disliked Not the site’s fault but we found a lot of ticks on the dogs. Just be aware if you have dogs with you.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked If you've been looking for a paradise on earth your search ends here. The camp is spread across the woods with plenty of sunshine and shades to accommodate anyone's liking, giving you a perfect opportunity to connect with nature. To make your stay more comfortable, there are clean and tidy facilities, so you can enjoy your time smelling like a rose. If you are hungry, your friendly host Simon will cook you dinner per your order and pour you a glass of wine, the colour of your choosing. When the night falls, you can look at the clear sky and learn a thing or two about stars while sharing life stories with your neighbours.

Whether you want to unwind, run away from your busy life, or spend some quality time with your family, this is a place for you.

I can't recommend Champ de la Chapelle enough and will surely be back.

From the manager: Hi Silvana

Electric grass pitch

Liked Warm welcome from Simon and choice of large well spaced pitches set amongst a beautiful forest setting. The toilet and shower facilities were very clean and looked after. Simon provided us with equipment to ensure my disabled husband could have a shower independently.

Disliked Nothing to dislike!

From the manager: Thank you for a lovely review. It was a pleasure to meet both of you and I sincerely hope we meet again.

Local attractions

At the 13th-century Château d’Ainay-le-Vieil (10 minutes’ drive), surrounded by a watery moat, it’s possible to walk along the top of the crenellated walls, punctuated by defensive towers. The surrounding parkland includes a rose garden and several open-air rooms (chartreuses), individually styled with medicinal plants, orchards and water features. Excavated in the early 19th century, the Canal de Berry (15 minutes) is no longer navigable, but its banks can be walked or cycled. To learn more about this body of water and why it was closed down in 1955, head to the Musée Canal de Berry (25 minutes), in Magnette, where you can also hire electric and pedal boats. Bourges (55 minutes) is home to a grand Romanesque/Gothic cathedral (a UNESCO World Heritage site) and the elegant Palais Jacques Cœur was erected in the 15th century by a wealthy local merchant. Track down medieval festivals (in high season) and flea markets locally. There are medieval attractions in Hérisson (25 minutes) or Ainay-le-Château (10 minutes), and Jardins des Marais de Bourges (an hour) also has tree-lined canals.
