What customers say
This peaceful, woodland campsite boasts spacious, shaded sites and a tranquil vibe, perfect for nature buffs. Guests rave about the super friendly owners, Simon and Lorraine. Facilities are clean with great shower pressure. Enjoy the pool, snack bar, and campfire marshmallow toasting. Despite some dated restrooms, it's a highly positive experience, with many planning return trips. A great local exploration base.

Liked We got a very warm welcome and the hosts were great throughout our stay. Nothing was too much trouble. Everything is clean and well looked after. The pool is great and there is sandpit area and playground for children. My 4 year old and 2 year old loved it and they could roam about safely. The campsite is set in beautiful trees with a good amount of shade, it's very peaceful.

Englischer Charme und Witz in Frankreich
Primitive grass campsite
Disliked Die etwas holprige Zufahrt

Powered grass campsite
Liked I discovered this campsite after reading the owner's books on Kindle (A Tent in France - Simon Swinn) and was keen to visit the campsite. This was our second visit and won't be the last. The owners, Simon & Lorraine, are very welcoming and friendly and really strive to make everyone's stay a good one. The site is very large with lots of space available to pitch pretty much where you want, yet still have facilities. Almost all are under the canopy of the forest which makes for a great camping experience. All the facilities are well maintained and clean. There is a bar available if you want to be social, well priced but doesn't detract from the peace and quiet if you'd rather stay on your pitch.

Liked Peaceful woodland site with plenty of shade and good facilities ( but remember to take your own loo roll!). Excellent for dog walking . Although we didn't actually have time to use the pool it looked very inviting.
Disliked No draught beer ( only joking!!).

Liked Location was amazing in the heart of the forest.
If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle this site is for you.
The Poole was amazingly clean and a wonderful temperature.
The facilities block whilst dated was clean and the showers were a perfect temperature and the water pressure outstanding.
Disliked Facilities were quite dated but everything else was so perfect I'd not score it down on this.

We loved the forest area, and liked being under the trees.

Liked the owner Simon and his lovely sidekick Yope (spelling probably completely wrong) were excellent and would help you with whatever you needed. Simon even took me on a shopping expedition which was useful. The facilities were good and well presented and the bar and eating area were comfortable and well looked after. We were there for 5 nights and Simon and Yope worked their little socks off.
Disliked The only downside, which was not Simon's fault but the weather was that the ground had lost all its grass etc as so hot. The result was that there was nothing but loose earth for the dogs to lay on resulting in a lot of dirt entering the motorhome and the dogs were filthy. Once again due to the weather and not the maintenance of the site.
