Designed for guests with a love of spending active time outdoors, this modern and well-maintained site is five minutes’ drive from the renowned Baraque de Fraiture, the highest point in the region and a popular family-friendly hub of year-round sporting activities. You can also go mountain hiking and biking from the site; there are more than 120 kilometres of marked trails winding through the unspoiled landscapes of the High Ardennes. Don’t feel like cooking after a day’s adventurous hike? There’s a brasserie right at the site entrance, where you can order breakfast, pick up fresh bread in the morning and dine on a varied regional menu in the evening. Arden Parks Vielsalm uses all the latest tech to ensure hassle-free stays. There’s smart access control with codes, so you are free to come and go as you please; there’s no waiting at reception and the site has an automated barrier so it’s completely secure.

Non-electric gravel motorhome pitch

Liked Was niet blij met de ligging beest de spoorweg.

Disliked De avond voor ons vertrek werden we opgebeld dat er een stroomonderbreking was op de camping in Vielsalm en zijn we doorverwezen naar camping Comblain au pont
Vlak naast de spoorlijn niet bepaald rustgevend wat ik wel gevraagd had.

Local attractions

The forest trails of the Belgian Ardennes await for cycling and hiking expeditions straight from the site. Grab your binoculars for wildlife and birdwatching among the peat bogs and grassy meadows of the Plateau des Tailles (10 minutes’ drive), or walk around the shoreline at Lac des Doyards (20 minutes), where you can also hire pedal boats and go fishing for carp or pike. Baraque de Fraiture (five minutes’ drive) is a big draw too – it is a one-stop centre for outdoor sports, ranging from skiing and sledding in winter to adrenaline-inducing mountain karting and trail running in summer. You can also have a go at treetop rope courses and disc golf at Avenature activity centre (15 minutes). There’s plenty for younger kids to do in the locality too. They can play science games and jump around on inflatable playgrounds at Houtopia recreation centre, or pet alpacas and ponies at Ferme de la Planche petting zoo (both 10 minutes), where there’s also a sensory garden and woodland strolls.
