If you like your outdoor activities to be many and varied, come along to Camp Pristavec in the Carinthian mountains. This family site is right on the banks of the river Möll, about 10 minutes' walk from Obervellach, and it's a great spot for those who like to fill their days with hikes, mountain bike rides and adventures like rafting and canyoning. Directly from the site, you can go into the forest to take the dog for a daily trot or follow one of the running routes. It’s also about half an hour’s walk to Groppensteinschlucht, an impressive gorge, and the trails of the Hohe Tauern National Park are within easy driving distance. For cyclists, there’s a mountain biking trail 500 metres from the site and a cycle bus runs to Grossglockner six days per week. And of course, in these gorgeous landscapes lots of excursions to lakes or mountains can be arranged. Back at base you can soothe any sore limbs in the tiny-house sauna and find a filling dinner at the restaurant, which serves traditional dishes from around the region. A firepit and barbecue area are on hand if you’d rather do your own cooking, and there's a weekly sociable barbecue and pizza evening. To get you going in the mornings, fresh rolls are available from 8am. Still got a bit of energy to expend? There's plenty of space for kids to run around and play here, and the site also has two playgrounds, a water play area, a basketball court, table tennis, a climbing wall and a golf area with driving range, putting green. And don't worry, all this open space means there's always a space to relax, too…

Liked Ein super schöner Campingplatz, der sehr familiär und freundlich betrieben wird. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist auch klasse. Es gibt im Umfeld viel zu erleben. für Aktivurlauber eine tolle Anlaufstelle. Für Kinder mit dem Bach vor der Tür ein Paradies.

Disliked Ein kleinen Abzug gibt es für die duschen, die teilweise nicht richtig funktionierten und meistens nicht wirklich sauber waren. Es ist aber auch ein Campingplatz, der von Outdoorsportlern betrieben wird, die viel Gras herein tragen. Wer jedoch einen Premium All inclusive Campingplatz sucht, ist hier eher falsch

Sehr viel Abenteuer für Kinder geboten.

Gute Küche und faire Preise bei den Speisen

Disliked Die Parzellen sind nicht eingezeichnet, man nimmt sich einfach irgendwo einen Platz. Dabei gibt es viel zu wenig Stromanschlüsse. Und viele nutzen es aus und stellen sich so hin das mehrere Stellplätze besetzt sind bzw der eine dann dadurch sehr klein ist.
Großee Minuspunkt ist die Sauberkeit in den Waschhäusern, hier ist dringend nachbessern erforderlich

Liked The site is in a beautiful spot, surrounded by mountains, forest and a river.
Etta at the reception was very helpful, recommended a visit to the falls and water rafting, we enjoyed very much.

Disliked I believe the site offers plenty of activities such us Archery , horse riding and a golf driving range that are not promoted enough.

Liked piacevole come posizione. Ovviamente come la maggior parte dei campeggi di montagna è molto spartano. Però c'è tutto il necessario.

Disliked bagni non proprio funzionali, la segreteria un pò disorganizzata e non si paga con carta.

Liked Gute Lage, ruhig, guter Ausgangspunkt für viele Aktivitäten, Restaurant war gut und lecker, nette Mitarbeiter und immer ansprechbar

Disliked Leider kaum bis kein Wasserdruck, Duschen nicht nutzbar deswegen, wenn viele Menschen duschen, kein Klopapier bei den Frauen

Local attractions

If you've come along for adventure, you're in the right place. Rafting and canyoning excursions can be organised on site and there are heaps of hikes in the surrounding area from gentle wanders to proper challenges (tackling the national park’s seven summits, anyone?) A couple of great options nearby are the gorges Groppensteinschlucht (half an hour's walk) and Raggaschlucht (10 minutes' drive). Getting higher up, the ski resort of Mölltaler Gletscher (20 minutes) is a nice place for a hike in summer, with a popular glass-walled restaurant where you can soak up the views over a meal. Alternatively, see some of the landscapes from above while riding the cable car to Ankogel (25 minutes). For more scenery spotting, visit Falkenstein Castle (10 minutes) and Mauterndorf Castle (an hour) or meander past the Millstätter See (35 minutes), the second-largest lake in Carinthia.
