If you like your outdoor activities to be many and varied, come along to Camp Pristavec in the Carinthian mountains. This family site is right on the banks of the river Möll, about 10 minutes' walk from Obervellach, and it's a great spot for those who like to fill their days with hikes, mountain bike rides and adventures like rafting and canyoning. Directly from the site, you can go into the forest to take the dog for a daily trot or follow one of the running routes. It’s also about half an hour’s walk to Groppensteinschlucht, an impressive gorge, and the trails of the Hohe Tauern National Park are within easy driving distance. For cyclists, there’s a mountain biking trail 500 metres from the site and a cycle bus runs to Grossglockner six days per week. And of course, in these gorgeous landscapes lots of excursions to lakes or mountains can be arranged. Back at base you can soothe any sore limbs in the tiny-house sauna and find a filling dinner at the restaurant, which serves traditional dishes from around the region. A firepit and barbecue area are on hand if you’d rather do your own cooking, and there's a weekly sociable barbecue and pizza evening. To get you going in the mornings, fresh rolls are available from 8am. Still got a bit of energy to expend? There's plenty of space for kids to run around and play here, and the site also has two playgrounds, a water play area, a basketball court, table tennis, a climbing wall and a golf area with driving range, putting green. And don't worry, all this open space means there's always a space to relax, too…

Liked Sehr freundliches Personal und gepflegte Anlage mit vielen Möglichkeiten. Hier schlug das Entdecker Herz eines elfjährigen Jungen gleich viel höher. Vom Kajak fahren über den nahe liegenden Fluss bis hoch hinaus auf den Kletterturm der durch Profis vorab das Kind und sich sicherte um ein Hochklettern gesichert zu gewährleisten und dabei motivierende bzw. mutmachende Worte übrig hatte. Eine Vielzahl an weiteren Aktivitäten für jung und alt steht ebenfalls zur Verfügung. Wanderwege wo man aus dem Staunen nicht mehr heraus kommt. Ringsum befindet sich eine atemberaubende Aussicht die vom Womi-Stellplatz genossen werden kann. Es ist so herrlich ruhig und man kann so richtig schön entspannen. Im Restaurant gibt es eine ausreichende Auswahl und das Bier schmeckt super!

Liked My one night overstay was very nice, place wasn't crowded, and I really liked little kids park with the real canoes on the river.
I also enjoyed next day rafting which was fun and beautiful scenery around.

Disliked Duschen und WC Gebäude nur unmittelbar sauber und zumutbar kurz nach der Reinigung
Trotz guter Belegung keine Reinigung und Kontrolle tagsübe !!
Oft fehlte WC-Papier und mann musste alle Kabinen absuchen und oft ekelhaft schmutzig.
Hier könnte man eine Menge verbessern, daher hier nur einen Stern

Liked Preis Leistung ist in Ordnung, man hat viele Möglichkeiten etwas zu unternehmen. Rafting Tour war super. Alle Mitarbeiter waren sehr freundlich.

Disliked Ein Kiosk wäre super gewesen, da die Getränke dann doch ins Geld gehen, und der Preis für den Hund 9€, Vater unser das ist wirklich zu überdenken.

Electric isn’t standard campsite hook up so as a uk traveler didn’t feel too welcome
Also had a man very rudely tell me I was blocking his view I was in a designated pitch overall wouldn’t recommend to anyone

Liked We were disappointed by several aspects of our recent stay. On multiple nights, there were loud parties in the chalets, and particularly disruptive were gatherings on the campervan pitches that continued until 2:30 and even 3:00am — reportedly birthday celebrations. Unfortunately, these disturbances appeared to go unchecked.

Additionally, the shared facilities lacked toilet roll on two consecutive nights, which was both inconvenient and unhygienic.

We also encountered an issue with food service. A vegetarian cheese toastie was served containing ham, despite us clearly explaining that one member of our group does not eat meat. It was returned, but disappointingly, came back simply reheated — still with visible meat remnants in the cheese.

While we appreciate the laid-back, informal atmosphere and the ‘pitch-where-you-like’ policy, it does seem to come at the cost of oversight, particularly when it comes to noise control and basic hospitality standards.

Liked Wir waren zum zweiten Mal nur für eine Nacht. Das nächste Mal sicher für länger. Denn die Besitzer mit dem gesamten Team sind supernett, hilfsbereit und zuvorkommend. Die Anlage ist sehr gepflegt und liebevoll für Groß und Klein angelegt.
Im eigenen Camping-Restaurant gibt es leckeres Essen, vom Frühstück bis zum Abendessen.
Da wurde ein Camper Paradies geschaffen.

Local attractions

If you've come along for adventure, you're in the right place. Rafting and canyoning excursions can be organised on site and there are heaps of hikes in the surrounding area from gentle wanders to proper challenges (tackling the national park’s seven summits, anyone?) A couple of great options nearby are the gorges Groppensteinschlucht (half an hour's walk) and Raggaschlucht (10 minutes' drive). Getting higher up, the ski resort of Mölltaler Gletscher (20 minutes) is a nice place for a hike in summer, with a popular glass-walled restaurant where you can soak up the views over a meal. Alternatively, see some of the landscapes from above while riding the cable car to Ankogel (25 minutes). For more scenery spotting, visit Falkenstein Castle (10 minutes) and Mauterndorf Castle (an hour) or meander past the Millstätter See (35 minutes), the second-largest lake in Carinthia.
