Moon Dance Glamping and Camping: Preparing for campers

General

  • Woodland glamping site 10 minutes' drive from the Pembrokeshire coast
  • Tenby, Folly Farm and Blue Lagoon waterpark within a 20-minute drive
  • Private garden area with firepits, seating and outdoor fairy lights

In a couple of acres of young woodland, 10 minutes’ drive from the coast, and with easy access to a main road for jaunts further afield… yup, it’s pretty easy to see why owners Penny and Jon picked this prime Pembrokeshire spot just outside Llanteg to set up home.

Being kind souls, they’ve chosen to share their place with guests too – just a few at a time, mind you, to make sure everyone gets the benefit of the area’s peaceful vibe. And what a peaceful vibe it is in the bell tents at Moon Dance Glamping and Camping, set up in open glades within the woods and each with its own willow-fenced private garden space. Outdoor chairs, firepits/barbecues and twinkly lights have all been set up for each tent, and there are local logs and bags of charcoal available to keep you toasty on evenings spent staring at the starry sky.

Fancy cuddling up under cover instead? It’s pretty cosy in the tents too – each one has a woodburning stove by which you can settle with a cup of tea or coffee whipped up using the supplies provided in your tent. For more elaborate food prep needs, there’s a covered kitchen area a short stroll away, next to the compost loo and modern shower.

You might like to take that cuppa on a wander around the site instead, of course – it’s the sort of place where you may well spot a good cluster of birds and butterflies as you go. More extensive walking plans in mind? The Landsker Trail runs right past the site, and the gorgeous Pembrokeshire Coast Path is about three miles away.

Please note

No cars/motorbikes by the pitch/unit. All cars must be parked in the designated area.

Twin axle vehicles are not permitted on site.

Commercial vehicles (vehicles used for work-related purposes, carrying goods or fare-paying passengers) and sign-written vehicles are not permitted on site.

The site caters for families (immediate members) and couples only - bookings from all other forms of groups are not accepted.

Everything! Penny was welcoming and always available at a text message if we needed something, such as more firewood! She also gave us some brilliant recommendations for the local area, which filled our time wonderfully.

The showers and toilets were so far beyond any I’ve had whilst camping before. with a separate toilet for different groups.

We were lucky enough to have the camping field to ourselves, but even if someone else had booked they keep it to only two pitches (I think that’s right) so it’s very, very generous with space. They have mown out areas in the long grass which really would really help separate pitches.

We had beautiful clear skies and with very little light pollution were treated to some wonderful star gazing, despite the short nights.

Not sure what else to say but thank you so much for having us, I imagine we’ll be back at some point!

    Basically everything.

It's hard to fault this place at all really. Jon and Penny were lovely hosts and clearly understand the camping experience. Despite having a very spacious field, they choose to only allow two pitches at time, so as a young couple on holiday during half term, this gave us the lovely peaceful campsite we were after, that is often hard to find. We had access to our own compostable toilet, as well as a shared fridge, sink and shower which always had hot water. Jon and Penny provided us with a fire pit with wood (for £5) which we also used as a barbecue for the duration of our stay. We also did archery and axe throwing with Jon on the last day which was great fun! Thanks guys, we'll definitely be back :)

Everything! The scenery, facilities, bell tent and wonderful hosts Penny and Jon made our stay unforgettable. Never have we had the chance to stay somewhere private enough that you feel have the beautiful scenery all to yourself, while still having clean, new eco facilities on site. The care and attention that has clearly gone into making each stay special (such as fresh eggs from the hens and sweet treats) was much appreciated! Thank you Penny x

Penny was lovely! So well kept with great Facilities! Felt so private and secluded! Little touches- water and eggs and a welcome basket ☺️ Logs topped up as needed. Only negative was when the weather was poor we couldn’t heat the tent and it was cold. Couldn’t be helped as far as the host however. Thanks!

Myself and my three children had a lovely stay. The owners couldn’t have been any more helpful, they were so friendly and welcoming and clearly take a lot of pride in their site. The facilities were exceptionally clean. We had our own allocated toilet, shower and washing up area. The camping field was well kept and tidy-making it easy to pitch.
Location is good for exploring off site.
I would recommend to other campers and hopefully we’ll visit again.
Their other business is archery, aerial archery, and axe and knife throwing! Make sure you book a lesson during your stay as it’s great fun.
    Thank you Penny and Jon

Local attractions

Pembrokeshire’s a place where you can pack your days full of activity or keep things slow-paced as you prefer. If you’re planning on the former, you might like to start with a very short walk (just a minute or so) to Aim Country Sports to hone your weaponry skills with indoor archery, aerial archery and (gulp) axe throwing.

If you’re not up for hurling dangerous objects about, try less peril-filled days out at The Secret Owl Garden, Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo or the Blue Lagoon waterpark – all are within a 15-minute drive.

Down to the coast is a must, at some point – adventure-seekers can sign up for more challenges on a coasteering trip from Tenby (20 minutes’ drive) while those looking for something a little more sedate can sort fishing trips in the harbour, ramble along the coast path or settle on one of the town's beaches for sandcastles and ice creams. Saundersfoot and the seven-mile Pendine Sands are also within a 20-minute drive for more beach action.
