  • Small, peaceful site on a rural Pembrokeshire smallholding
  • Within a half-hour drive of beaches, Cardigan and Folly Farm
  • Barbecues and firepits welcome; pub 10 minutes' walk away
If you’re planning to explore as much of Pembrokeshire as you possibly can, you’ll be in prime position when you stay at Maengwyn Hir Campsite. This small site is part of a rural smallholding near the hamlet of Llanfyrnach, and that location places it pretty much right in the centre of the county. The setting itself is peaceful indeed, with lovely views of the Preseli Hills and plenty of space from which to take them in (including a picnic area by a pond). The rural location means lots of great walks nearby too – handily, many of the trails will take you past the local pub (10 minutes’ walk away) for a well-earned pint to reward your efforts. Although this is a quiet location, there’s plenty of action around if you want it. For starters, you’ll be able to check out great swathes of West Wales coastline, whether you head north (to Cardigan and Aberporth), west (to St Davids and Newgale) or south (to Tenby and Pendine). Family outings to places like Dyfed Shire Horse Farm, Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo and Heatherton World of Activities are within easy reach too, while scenery seekers can head to places like Cenarth Falls and Pentre Ifan Burial Chamber. Back on site, it’s a laidback setup that welcomes dogs, families, groups and allows campfires and barbecues. A chemical disposal point and toilet block are among the handy facilities provided.

What customers say

This is a small, family-run site praised for its friendly and welcoming owners, peace, and quiet atmosphere. Pitches are described as spacious, level, and well-maintained. Facilities include very clean toilet blocks and a static caravan providing a shower, kitchen, and lounge area. The remote location means a car is recommended for exploring nearby beaches and towns, though a pub is within walking distance. Some guests noted a slight musty smell in the static caravan.

Electric optional hardstanding and grass pitch

Liked Small, family run site.
Toilets block was clean.
Use of the static caravan to shower and wash dishes was ideal.
Owners were extremely friendly and made a point of coming over to see that everything was alright and that we had settled.
Although the location is remote, you're within 30 mins of beaches and towns of Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire and Cardiganshire.
Will definitely return!

Electric optional hardstanding and grass pitch

Liked A perfect place to stop and relax. Richard (and Skai) are so helpful and welcoming.
It has 2 excellent toilets near the pitches for those middle of the night trips and the use of a large static caravan to shower and make drinks, heat food etc. I won't go anywhere else when I am in the area

Disliked Nothing to dislike. Super place
