  • Wild camping site with sea views just off the Pembrokeshire Coast Path
  • Swimming and seal spotting close by; beach under 30 minutes’ walk away
  • Shower with a sea view; shops, pubs and cafés a short walk away
Seal spotting, coastal walking and swimming in the Irish Sea… that’s part of the deal at the dog-friendly Ciliau Ganol Farm, a spacious wild camping site that’s just off the Pembrokeshire Coast Path. Part of an organic dairy farm, the grassy pitches serve serious sea views, under half an hour’s coastal walk away from the closest beach in Goodwick and 10 minutes' drive from Fishguard. Shops, pubs and cafés are a bonus down in the town, but at the site, nature and the sound of the ocean are the main showstoppers. See, the site is in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park alongside Cliau Moor’s wildlife haven and the large, spacious grassy pitches get a nice breeze from the Irish Sea. It's a simple set up here, with a toilet and shower block, kitchen facilities and sofas in one of the old barns plus a water tap for drinking water and a washing-up station. Sometimes, the site sells local eggs, milk, cheese, meat and dairy... and occasionally line-caught wild ocean fish from the farm's bungalow when the stock is in. By the pitches, you’ll be under five minutes’ walk away from the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, so that means that you’ll be able to go swimming off the rocks or seal spotting after just a short walk.

Non-electric grass campervan pitch (comfort)

Liked: Hot showers, views, pitch up where you like, camp fires allowed, dog friendly, friendly and attentive hosts

Disliked: Large groups are accepted here so just bare in mind you might be sharing the field with a large group or two! Not a huge issue for us but worth baring in mind if your looking for absolute peace and quiet

Non-electric grass campervan pitch (comfort)

Liked: Stunning location, with sea views and great to watch the ships come in to port. We also loved watching the lighthouse light the bay up when it got dark. Toilets and showers where lovely and clean and the water very hot. Blew our expectations completely for what we thought would be on site. The couple running the campsite where also wonderful people.

Disliked: The grass could of been cut a little better to make it easier to set up, but very minor, wouldn't deter us staying again.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch (comfort)

Liked: Beautiful stars at night. Lovely close location to Amroth beach (perfect for swimming with our 6 and 8 year old), wiseman’s beach just around the cove had some amazing rock pools and crabbing. Lovely owner, helpful and friendly. Pitches were lovely and mostly flat, toilets are portaloos but owner made every effort to keep them clean and have them emptied. Showers are lovely and warm.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch (comfort)

Liked: Relaxed atmosphere and warm welcome Good hot free showers Toilets were clean Fantastic views

Disliked: We were walking the coastal path, and it's a 0.6 mile walk to the campsite from there (advertised as 5 minutes away). This is OK but we weren't sure whether we were going the right way at points, would be useful to have the campsite signposted as trail was quite overgrown in parts.

Liked: Really liked how wild it felt, how relaxed the campsite is, and the view! Also the proximity to the coastal path is brilliant. The hosts made us feel very at home.

Disliked: It is quite expensive for what it is.
