What customers say

This campsite offers a fantastic location, with a short, pleasant walk to the beach and local village. Visitors consistently praise the friendly and helpful staff, the clean facilities, and the spacious pitches. While generally well-maintained, some guests mention that the facilities could benefit from an update and a few pitches can be uneven. An ice cream van regularly visits, adding to the enjoyable atmosphere. The site is a popular choice for those seeking a peaceful base to explore the beautiful Pembrokeshire coast.

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked Very friendly welcome, escorted to pitch and everything explained. Really nice short walk to the beach. Clean facilities.

Disliked Only downside is that disables toilets are in with the family room. If needing the disabled facilities it can take several times as busy with families. Also couldn’t get the soap dispenser to work in there. Was a bottle of hand wash on the sink but wasn’t refilled and was very low.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked situaton is excellent & site well maintained

Disliked We have been 2 years running now & both times have felt that the toilet & shower block lets the site down. My husband used a shower cubicle that had a toilet in & the toilet actually moved when he sat on it & the shower was held together with zip clips.

Electric grass tent pitch

Liked Great area near to beach 10-15 walk

Disliked Pitch was slopping in 2 directions. When walking in side tent you feel sea sick because slopes. Had to keep hands on cooking utensils all times as they slide off cooker, even after folding cardboard 6 times and puting under cooker legs. We use screw in tent pegs and e torque wrench...had problems getting them all way in as were so many rocks in the ground. Tryed normal pegs they just bent. Asked for different pitch.. even there being loads open pitches the time we stayed the staff wouldn't move spot. Toilets were kept clean. But a long walk to them from our pitch.

Electric grass tent pitch (small)

Liked Staff were great

Disliked Family booked a tent pitch, a lot of work putting tent up and all that goes with it, they booked for 5 days, on the 3rd day they was asked to move pitches, it's a huge site with lots of pitches, they went home losing 3 days after paying for 5 nights, plus the pitch given was on a steep slope, they won't be back, neither will we

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Hot showers and all facilities, great hilly views when waking up, plenty of camping space and room given to pitch up, pleasant walk to the castle, town and beach, staff nearby if needed.

Disliked My girlfriend asking me every night if it was raining but it was actually the leaves blowing.
Also, if anything, quite steep on parts for pitching up, but still wouldn't stop me from coming back!.

Local attractions

Pack the wetsuit, surfboard and other foamy paraphernalia: this part of west Wales has several surrounding sands known for good surf, such as Manorbier beach (best for experienced surfers because of the strong currents), Tenby South and Freshwater West (where scenes in Harry Potter were shot, film fact fans). Jetskiing, kitesurfing, paddleboarding and kayaking are all available locally for a shot or two of more adrenaline, but if your idea of watersports verges on the sedate, you can take a RIB ride or hire a motorboat for a trip around Tenby harbour and Caldey Island to sightsee and species spot: dolphins and seals are often seen here. Fishing? Set your jaws and try to land a shark – quite a few toothy types swim along the south coast of Pembrokeshire because of the warm waters of the Gulf Stream, and a 150lb whopper was landed near Milford Haven in 2011. If the mere thought of sharks is bringing back disturbing childhood memories of a certain film, take a boat out for sea fishing instead from Tenby, Fishguard, Pembroke or Milford Haven, or try one of the shoals of river and stillwater course and game fishing around the county. On land, once you’ve spent the requisite days at Oakwood, Heatherton, Folly Farm and the Dinosaur Park, explorers have plenty of other leisurely options in the area for family days out. The 186 miles of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path can be joined at the far end of Tenby’s South Beach for a five-mile hike east to the golden sands of Saundersfoot and on for another two and a half miles to its finishing point at Amroth, via lots of stopoffs for snaps of seabirds and seals from the cliffs. Little nature fans should like a trip to Tenby’s Manor House Wild Animal Park for all manner of up-close encounters with lemurs, gibbons, meerkats and more, or a trip around the three floors of Ocean Commotion, a play park for kids from tots to ten. Once the kids are suitably bribed/tuckered out, grownups have plenty of pursuits in the area to pick from: try the indoor and outdoor markets at Tenby and the market at Pembroke Dock; a scenic drive west along the coast to cutely small St Davids (well worth the drive), or teeing off at one of Tenby’s top-class golf courses.
