Non-electric grass tent pitch (small)

Liked: This is the best campsite we have ever stayed at! Its a beautiful and peaceful site, set in a small patch of woodland. Showers were hot and powerful and all facilities were really clean. Fire pits available for hire. Hosts and other campers were very friendly. Very close to town with lots of shops, pubs and restaurants and a short drive to beautiful beaches. We will definitely be back soon!

Disliked: Nothing!

Woodland camping pod

Liked: Wow - we Loved it so much at Glan-Y-Mor that we’ve already booked to come back next year when we were still there! A absolutely lovely gem of a campsite, whilst situated in a town, it doesn’t feel like it at all. The woodland pods are cosy and well equipped, and much bigger than I expected them to be. The bed is big and comfy. The children had a fold out foam mattress on the floor, and we had to bring our own bedding for that (which wasn’t an issue as my two love sleeping in their sleeping bags), the kids said the mattress was really comfortable too. The pods came with fairly lights inside them, and the kitchen area had solar lantern lights around (but you’re a bit sun dependant with the solar) But we took additional lights with us to brighten it up. It surprised me how warm the pod got over night. I packed for outdoor sleeping, and this wasn’t it at all, all the home comforts and warmth, with the additional benefits of camping, literally best of both worlds. The bathrooms are clean and big, 1 shower and 3 toilets in the female one (and I believe the same in the male side), and at no point did I have to queue to use any facilities. I really enjoyed the classic FM being played when I was having my shower, the Harry Potter music felt quite apt being so close to Dobbys grave. There are some lovely shared facilities, which were really well maintained, with a fire lit in the communal area every evening, which had a kettle, fridge and charging points. There is a fab woodland walk, which my children loved. The owners told us they’re hoping to extend it further! There is a really friendly and chilled out feeling about this site, and it worked amazingly well for us. We really liked the lack of cars on site, you have to park in the designated area, but the owners provided wheelbarrows for taking your equipment to your accommodation. Initially it worried me about not being able to park by accommodation, but this wasn’t an issue at all. The lack of cars added to the tranquil feel of the site. The hosts are super friendly and approachable. They’re doing a great job. It was nice to see them walking around checking on everyone in an evening. The new one way system is fine, there are huge big red signs directing you which way to go, and we were text full instructions before our arrival. The owners have done all they can to help with this. You can hire fire pits per night, which come fully loaded with wood, kindling and fire starters. Really useful for us when we got there much later than expected! You will need lights to take you from accommodation to the facilities at night. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and as I already mentioned we’ve already rebooked and for longer next time as a weekend was just nearly not long enough to spend in beautiful Pembrokeshire xx

Disliked: Genuinely for us, There’s really not much to dislike at all. We struggled to find flat ground outside the pod to put our table on. so we had a few spillages of drinks, But this is being really nit picky!

Local attractions

Give your arms a workout (or simply sit back and let someone else do the hard work) at Pembroke Castle (20 minutes' walk), where you can hire rowing boats for outings on the boating lake. Also in the Pembroke area, you could learn more about the region’s maritime history at Pembroke Dock Heritage Centre (five minutes' drive) or inspect the medieval ruins of Lamphey Bishops' Palace (10 minutes). Keeping the kids entertained isn't going to be a problem in this family-friendly part of the world, whether you opt for the trampolines, pedalos, mini land rovers and paintball at Heatherton World of Adventure (15 minutes) or have set your sights on the exotic specimens on show at Manor Wildlife Park (15 minutes). For time by the coast, explore the Angle Peninsula (20 minutes), a peaceful Site of Special Scientific Interest that's dotted with World War II defences, or head to the popular beaches around Tenby (20 minutes) for some time sprawled out on the sand. The small city of St Davids (45 minutes) is a must too and is surrounded by tiny coves and pretty natural harbours.
