  • Lakeside caravan park near Lampeter in rural Carmarthenshire
  • A half-hour drive to Cardigan Bay beaches and dolphin-spotting trips
  • Tennis court on site; bars and shops five minutes’ drive away
Treat yourself to a stay at Ty Llyn caravan park, a six-acre, family-friendly site for caravans and motorhomes, with gorgeous rural views and – best of all – a view of a sizeable lake, fed by spring water. On clear days, expect to see spectacular sunsets over the water – and if you want to get moving, the site has a tennis court where you can practise your swing. With a tiny number of grass pitches among six acres of gorgeous countryside, you’ll never feel overcrowded at this spot, and there’s plenty of wildlife to spot around too. Although well-behaved canines are welcome, they’ll need to be under control at all times, as there are farm animals grazing in surrounding fields. While there are no food offerings at Ty Llyn, team members are happy to advise on choice of restaurant or where to go shopping for supplies – top spot is Lampeter (five minutes’ drive), with handy shops and plenty of pubs, cafés and restaurants.

What customers say

This is a peaceful, adults-only campsite praised for its stunning lake views, abundant wildlife, and friendly, helpful owners. Pitches are spacious with EHU and water. While some reviewers found facilities basic or experienced issues with water and a broken shower pump, others found them clean and adequate, with a static caravan offering a shower and kitchen. The manager noted that a storm impacted field conditions and offered alternative facilities. The site is well-kept and dog-friendly, with a secure field.

Liked Stayed here for 4 nights over the May bank holiday, were the only ones here for 2 nights :) Very peaceful. Its only a small site but pitches have EHU and water, there are only grassed pitches not gravel. We were mostly lucky with the weather and the views of the lake and wildlife was great and the sunsets beautiful.
Didnt use the facilities so cannot comment but the site in general was clean and tidy.
Sheila, the owner was very helpful and informative. Would definitely come here again, probably with family and maybe make use of the lake.

From the manager: The toilet block is in the same field as the pitch up site as explained to you when you arrived the storm we had of heavy rain made the field very wet so I put you in the other field next to the pitch up field and you also had a mobile home to use shower toilet sink .full kitchen use and front room with board games.hope you enjoyed your stay hope to see you again soon.dominic brislin owner

Electric optional grass and gravel touring pitch

Liked We spent six nights at Ty Llyn Campsite, with a campervan + owning. It's a charming, clean, and beautiful family-run campsite. Spacious pitches, clean facilities, and a static caravan with a fully equipped kitchen, shower, and toilet. A good and safe place for our 2 dogs. Beautiful views of the lake and surrounding area. The owner, Sheila, was very kind, friendly, and helpful, she even bought my grandson a surprise for Easter, which was very nice. We had a really good time, even though the weather wasn't always great. We would definitely go there again

Liked It was beautiful and peaceful stay, very clean and secure. The owners were so kind, helpful and caring. It had all the facilities you needed, toilets, showers, secure areas so your dog can safely enjoy her stay too. Beautiful picturesque views and a lake you could have a lot of fun in. Will definitely be returning. Perfect location for different places to see west wales

Local attractions

There are all sorts of adventures to be had if you’re based at Ty Llyn, from trekking with alpacas at Woodlands Alpacas (25 minutes’ drive) to saddling up for horseback trail riding from Maesllan (10 minutes) and playing a round of golf in Lampeter (five minutes). And of course, there are miles of local footpaths for dog walks, as well as mountain-bike tracks in woodlands surrounding the site. Dolphin-spotting boat cruises depart from New Quay (half an hour), while the Cardigan Bay seaside resort of Aberaeron makes a fab day out on sunny days, with a beach backed by colourful Georgian-era cottages and some cute seafood restaurants. For a more cultural outing, jump on the steam train to Carmarthen (35 minutes) to pick up crafts in the covered market and nose around the art galleries. Tour the stately John Nash-designed villa at National Trust - Llanerchaeron (25 minutes) or potter around the biospheres and lovely landscapes at the National Botanic Garden of Wales (45 minutes). Closer to base, Norwood Gardens and Tea Room (10 minutes) has several themed gardens to wander, and looks wonderful in spring when the daffs are out.
